Not quite 8 a.m. and the weatherman says a few sprinkles today. Fine with me. I did go outside early and water a few plants anyway as it may rain but probably won't. Sure was enough wind to go around yesterday.
Not much planned for today. Depending on how I feel I might drive downtown and see how close I can get a parking place to the parade route. Would like to get some pictures but it remains to be seen if I'll tackle that activity.
Was surprised to open my door yesterday and find this big ole box sitting there. I know the mail man delivers Amazon packages on Sunday but I didn't really expect to see what I ordered until tomorrow. Now I have to put it together and use it!
I gave my bike to Mary because I was a little uncomfortable about riding alone. I could probably do it but since my balance has become so terrible this past year (I need to get my butt out there walking daily) I decided I'd go a different route. My knees really need movement and this ought to help. I have a really nice exercise bike that Rose Johnson gave me a few years ago but as I've become more clumsy, getting up and on it has become a challenge. I used a footstool for getting up and down but then pulled a groin muscle a couple of times and decided I'd better try something closer to the ground.
Would love to pass this perfectly fine piece of exercise equipment on if anybody wants it. I'm pretty sure I can get it in the back of my car and deliver to PT, Hadlock, Sequim, or Port Angeles addresses.
I've got it on the Clallam County free website but no takers yet. No takers on any of the half dozen items I'm trying to give away. Anybody have use for 40 blank VHS tapes or a box of thread spools?
One person suggested I take the spools to the Boys and Girls club for crafts and I might do that.
I plan on continuing work on my genealogy files today. My subscription to ancestry.com expires in two weeks so I want to make sure I've looked up everything I can think of. I spent way too much time yesterday working on finding ole Charlie so perhaps I'll change direction today and look up data on my dad's mother's family. I already have quite a bit on the Holts but you never know when a new piece of information might float to the surface.
I went outside early and spent a few minutes pulling weeds here and there. Managed to fill one bucket and decided that was going to be it. Slow and steady. I took the foam mattress off my bed last night (it's what I do) but this morning I put it right back on again. My back felt okay but both shoulders hurt all night long and I prefer side sleeping. I have noticed that laying on my shoulders with the foam doesn't bother them at all. I guess there's just no pleasing this body anymore.
I watched a 1997 movie on Amazon last night called Switchback. Starred Dennis Quaid and Danny Glover. Had me on the edge of my seat and kept me up until almost midnight.
Gotta send out a 4th of July birthday greeting to my brother, Les, who turns 69 today.
Both of my brothers didn't seem to inherit any fat genes from our parents. Too bad my sister and I didn't luck out as well. My mother was always very thin but dad's side of the family had a bit more meat on their bones. And with that, I'm off to fix breakfast. Leaning towards a poached egg.
