Sitting here with my 2nd cup of coffee, listening to my favorite Sunday Morning news show. Just set out fresh nectar for the hummingbirds in the front and decided to take my camera out to the back yard and look at my trees. I have three trees growing out there. Here's two of them.
This one on the left has plums growing. I got a few last year too. As I looked over my tree on the right (I was never really sure what kind of tree it was) I noticed A PLUM! Well, I'll be darn. I have two plum trees growing. I posted two pictures below but you'll have to search to find the plums, especially in the first picture.
Here's some blooms in pots on the back deck.
Sue planted some bulbs for me last week and they're already showing in the dirt.
The neighbor's cherry tree is mouth watering every morning.
These particular neighbors do a lot of fishing, hiking, crabbing, traveling, and picture taking. She's also quite the artist and her yard and house prove it. Very pretty. Yesterday she brought me a bag of crab (all cracked) so I was thrilled because I had made half a dozen salads the day before and now I can spruce them up with favorite goodies.
My "to-do" list today is pretty much like days past. Genealogy research, water painting, and I think I'll hem this pair of red sweat pants. They're like brand new but stupid me mopped the kitchen floor (using bleach) and now I have orange spots all over the red pant legs. Hate it when I do that -- and it's not the first time either!
I managed to get my photos sorted on my computer hard drive yesterday. I'm making an effort to stay ahead of them as they fill up quickly what with the convenience of digital cameras. I watched a good movie last night with Christopher Plummer called 'Remember'. He has dementia and goes hunting for a Nazi guard that killed his family during the war. Martin Landau also starrred. Was a grim reminder that we all age, and it was sad yet comforting to see the guy from Sound of Music shuffling along.
I sure don't miss the boom and noise of fireworks this week. Port Angeles will have a parade tomorrow but I doubt I'll bother going down there. Mainly because my back bothers me to walk too far. We'll see. Maybe if I take both walking sticks I can wear my camera around my neck. I would like to get some photos so I'll think on it.
It's looking pretty nice outside today but I've still got the sliding glass door closed as the breeze was too cold to sit in front of. And sitting in front of it is what I'd be doing since I moved my laptop out here to the kitchen table. When I working on genealogy files, I really need more room to spread things out. Plus it's very comfortable with the large screen tv in front of me which gives me my Pandora music, as well.
Last night before I got off line, I found a Charles Y Blankenship and I intend to delve into his past a little bit to see if I can't make him be "the Charles" I've been searching for. I know he's related to my family and I know how he's related; I just wonder if he's the one I've been trying to pinpoint. Could be my grandpa didn't have a younger brother and this Charles is who I want. I'll know soon enough as I start working the numbers.
Guess I'll look over the tv schedule and see if there's anything I want to watch today or tonight. There seldom is so I turn to Amazon Prime or Netflix. I'm fixing a small cornish game hen for dinner tonight. Haven't decided if I want to make mashed potatoes too or just have a salad. And with that boring news, I guess I'll sign off here. Some days are just totally boring blog days. Ha!
