Crawled out of bed and wondered again how come I never feel good when I wake up in the morning. I used to. I threw water in my face, commented to my mirror reflection that "yes, Joyce, you're still ugly as hell!" and then proceeded to pick out an outfit. Wasn't hard as jeans and t-shirt are my preferred garb of choice, except in winter when sweats win the contest. A fashion plate I ain't! And how's that for a stupid comment?!
Fixed a bagel and yogurt for breakfast with a cup of coffee and sat down at the computer to read the Leader. Knew more people than usual in the obits today. Didn't care for that. Browsed my usual other stops online (hotmail, g-mail, Facebook, PDN, IMDB) and decided I'd load up the car with the flower pots and bird feeders a person in PT wants tomorrow. After getting them in there, I took a second look at them and realized they were pretty dang skudsy with dirt, bugs, cobwebs, and heaven only knows what else. Brought them all out again and gave them a bath with the jet spray nozzle. Loved seeing all those icky earwigs run for it!
Loaded them back in the car and pulled my little carpet cleaner into the house so I can think about whether or not I want to spot clean carpet areas today or Friday. We'll see...
As I looked over the list of stops I want to make in Port Townsend tomorrow (and the list of things I need to put in the car) I realized I'd probably better charge my camera battery. Good thing I did too as it's still charging and was obviously in need of fresh juice.
Neighbor gave me a flower from her beautiful yard yesterday. Their place is so pretty.
My email box this morning held a picture of Jake at the dentist. He doesn't look that impressed. Ha!
I worked on my BigFoot quilt pattern yesterday. Still have to sew around the edges of the pieces and am a little worried about that as they're full of tiny little turns. Joanne Bennett sent me some tips but unfortunately I can't use them on this one as I've already ironed the pieces down. Good info for future panels, though. Will have to send them to Ann R. so she can read up on it too. Joanne is one of those really really good sewers. She donated this quilt she made to raise money for the NW Raptor Center. I'm going to stop at Wildbirds, Unlimited in Gardiner tomorrow to buy a raffle ticket for it.
Am thinking of starting a baby quilt this afternoon and I really need to sit down and try to paint the Kuhn St. house again. Am watching the Olympics off and on. Mostly off. Too many commercials and am really tired of NBC bragging about how good they are at telecasting it. Kind of bored with the stories they feature on certain athletes too. The Canadian telecast suits me better sometimes. And go ahead and call me a prude but do those female divers really need to wear those swimsuits that leave nothing to the imagination when they walk away afterwards? Who could concentrate on a dive with that stuck in their butt?! Okay. I guess I'm done here.
