Weatherman is predicting rain and high winds tomorrow and this weekend. Sure hope we don't lose power. Seems like a lot of times, though, they carry on like a chicken running around screeching "the sky is falling...the sky is falling!" Time will tell.
Yesterday I coughed and spit all day long STILL! I was kind of surprised because I went the whole night without having to use the spit cup and thought I was well. Still spitting a bit this a.m. but I can definitely feel a difference in my chest congestion so I've got my fingers crossed. At least I'm not coughing hardly at all.
House had some maintenance done yesterday. Mary and Andy hired an electrician to replace the thermostat in Jenni's room and two guys scrapped moss off the roof and cleaned the gutters.
I finished my big foot wall hanging and made a little label for the back.
I also tied a fleece blanket for my son-in-law's mom as a thank you for the blackberries she gave me. I'm going to bake a pie this afternoon.
I spent three days trying to understand the ins and outs of how Windows 10 worked. So frustrating because my OCD kicks in and I won't leave it alone until I've won the battle. Finally relented, though. Was just plain tiring me out and I wasn't getting any writing done or sewing. I've still got it plugged in and the monitor set up but I'm relying on my laptop until some techie walks through the door and I can talk them into helping me. Always nice to have a standby computer anyhow.
I did manage to figure out some but I never could get the resolution and fonts on the screen so that I could read things comfortably. I could magnify but the overall sharpness of various websites was just too hard on the eyes. I know there's a lot of interesting features awaiting me so I'm not giving up entirely. Just need to take a break.
Meanwhile, I've started to edit through my 80+ Town Kid posts on the Leader to see if I can put together a second book. Will add more chapters too, I suppose, and eliminate some of the topics I wrote on. I'm pretty sure I've got enough to put together some kind of marketable book. Always like having a project.
I was going to start another quilting panel but most of the time, the directions are confusing and complicated and I need to be fresh and in the mood to tackle them. Been playing around with a headache that comes and goes the last two days. Not sure if it's sinus related but since I've just started turning on the heat, I suspect there might be a link. I did pick up some Tylenol Sinus tablets this morning.
Ran my errands early and was exhausted by the time I got home. Walked the aisles of Joanne's Fabrics but only picked up a little material and some thread. Next stop was the bread store and then over to Walmart where I managed to walk from one end of the place to the other. Picked up the latest in sweatpants so I'll be stylish for winter and a few other odds and ends on "the list." Jenni was back in bed when I got home. Her legs have been hurting a lot the last couple weeks. Sure will be glad when she can get that medicine she used to take to help the leg pain.
Here's a couple pictures that were in the Leader this morning.
I sure miss riding my bike.
Well, off to the kitchen. Jenni bought pie crust mix so maybe I'll do up this pie the easy way. Especially since my headache isn't really in the baking mood. I will love having yummy blackberry pie later, though.
Here's a picture of Maddie in one of her runs.
Hunter started a part time job working for a contractor after school and on the weekend. Keeping busy with lots of duties. Maddie continues as waitress at Traylor's.
