Every now and then, though, there's something I find interesting so I have to keep taking it. Mostly just the obits but even those are hit and miss as more and more people move to town and the population changes to strangers. Never see wedding pictures much and when I do, I don't know them. Same with babies being born. And whoever decided to start naming the doctor in attendance at birth? Who cares? The police column doesn't bother to name addresses or names so I find them pretty dull. Letters to the editor get a little meat in them now and then and letters commenting on articles can be entertaining too. My brother often writes a few lines on some subject that gets his dander up.
Since I decided to start keeping a Trump scrapbook, I've cut out a lot of cartoons and editorials about him. Not that I'm a fan! No way or even close to being a fan. I think he's one of the worst things that has happened to this country.
I quit reading the comics years ago but I do find Pickles entertaining and usually look at couple of others now and then. I quit reading horoscopes but now I'm finding myself glancing at them mainly out of curiosity. This morning I was told: Make a point to change your look or do something that will add to your popularity. Hmmmm...change my look? Like maybe wear something besides sweat pants and put on lipstick and earrings?
Today is the first day of winter. All that means to me is that starting tomorrow, the day's will be longer. And I'm looking forward to that! I mailed off two letters this morning, posted on facebook, and now I'm blogging. Next up --- work on my book. Yep! Gonna be a day (or at least a morning) of sitting in front of the computer screen. Going to make an effort to get up and walk around more frequently too. Poor ole knees are sick and tired of having to deal with the excess weight and remind me all the time that they can make my life miserable if they want to.
Ruth called me last night and told me Edna Nelson died. That made me sad. I always liked Ole Edna. I asked Jenni if she remembered Edna Nelson. Her response:
Oh yeah, dislocated knee and Ouija Board.
What?
I had fallen and dislocated my knee. I called Mary (who was living in Seattle) 'cause I remembered her number and she helped me locate Edna's number where you were with a bunch of friends, drinking wine and playing with an ouija board.
Oh man! I was such a lousy mother! ha ha ha
Well, off to take my vitamins. And here's the only picture I have of me sitting on Santa's lap. (Bill Forcier) This was in a small house John and I rented in n. Seattle in 1966-68.
I vaguely remember visiting Santa as a young child but I don't remember it enough to recall my age or where it was taken. Uptown Theater maybe? Oh well, it's gone now.
