Sitting here in my office/sewing room and notice the window is streaked with rain. Was dang cold when I walked out to get the mail too. I was going to run a quick errand but talked myself out of it. Tomorrow is soon enough. We left Christmas eve to drive to Renton. Got a late start so it was a miserable ride in the rain and the dark -- with Sammy whining and crying the whole time.(He doesn't like being in cars) Hunter drove his own truck and I must say I was impressed that he could do that alone. I know I couldn't. At least not when it was dark. Here's various pictures I took Christmas day and night.
this was a game we played rolling dice and passing around this large ball Jenni wrapped with many layers of plastic wrap. You can to unwrap and keep any presents that dropped out and if somebody rolled doubles, you had to pass the ball on. It was lots of fun.
Jake got new jammies among a ton of other things. Poor baby had to be taken to Urgent Care hours after we left. Sinus infection kicked in big time. Mary is now sick too and she's on the way to her doctor.
Here's a picture I took of Hunter as we passed him on the highway coming home.
We had a fabulous prime rib dinner with green bean casserole, rolls, baked potatoes and apple pie. I think the potatoes were my favorite.
Got this 6-port gadget that hooks to my laptop from Jenni. It allows me to have 6 usb sticks plugged in at one time (and my camera) so I don't have to keep changing them out. I hooked it up immediately as my laptop ports have been giving up the ghost for weeks off and on.
Catie got me this really neat electric star show gadget that reflects all these "dot images" on your house as night lights. I never go out at night and wanted to enjoy seeing them so I set it up on my deck to reflect against the back fence. It works its way up a telephone pole and the neighbor's roof too. Really fun to watch.
Mary got me a Mickey Mouse watch (it was on my list) as I've always wanted one. Also a nice LL Bean sweater (cardigan) that I intend to use for dress up as it's so nice. She also gave me a Safeway gift card and Maddie gave me a gift card to Joanne's. I gave half a dozen or so gift cards this year myself. I think they're much easier when it's hard to get out and go shopping.
I'm always amazed when I see the unique gifts (especially in the stockings) that Andy and Mary find to put in as stocking stuffers. Unusual stuff you can't usually find on the peninsula.
Traffic was sure a bugaboo coming home. Especially from Poulsbo to Port Angeles. Long long lines that never let up. Wayne couldn't believe how bad it was. I don't have a thing on my calendar until a doctor appt on Jan. 6th. Personally. I'm very glad the holidays are winding down. Gets more tiring every year. Sue and Paul are coming over for turkey dinner tomorrow night. I'll have to take some pictures then too.
And I'm off....
