Making Progress

Sat down at my laptop today determined to make some headway on my book.  Thankfully, my legs behaved themselves and let me.  Been having a heck of a time with the area behind and below one knee.  Not a sharp pain as much as an ongoing gnawing ache.  Something is amiss and it's probably going to require a trip to see the orthopedic guy.  Not that I intend to get a knee replacement again. I'm hoping to never have to go through that!  I'd ignore it altogether since it doesn't hurt all the time but..... when it does act up, my knee kind of acts like it wants to buckle and loses strength.  I haven't fallen yet but I've gotten unsteady a couple of times and that is alarming.  Nothing pisses me off more than having my mobility challenged.

I went to Safeway yesterday and it was hurting quite a bit.  I "almost" used my walking stick to go into the store but I went slow and figured pushing the cart would be good enough.  Didn't stay too long or buy that much but my bag was a tad heavy as I made my way to my car.  I must have been limping along and looking pretty frail as a woman asked if she could carry my bag for me.  I should have let her but I thanked her and pretended I was tough.

Saw a picture on FB today that Mary posted of Jake.  They went bike riding and then treated themselves to a shake.

Another picture I saw a while back was posted by the people who own the house next door but now rent it out. He's in the coast guard. Anyhow, they go pick out their own tree each year and get kind of a "Charlie Brown" type to decorate.  I think it's really cool. One you remember from all the really fancy ones people post.

And that's about all I got for today.  Plan on watching football tomorrow and the day after that. Nothing on my agenda to celebrate the new year except a peaceful night of sleep.

I did have Sue and Paul and their friend, Tucker, over for turkey dinner a couple nights ago. Sue fixed the bird and brought pumpkin pie. Tucker brought his dog, Buddy, and much to our surprise, the two dogs had a delightful time playing together.
