My Baby is 44

Jenni went to Joshua's for lunch today because Maddie and 15 other junior girls were getting STAR awards from the Soroptimist Club. Way to go Mad Dog!

And my other granddaughter, Catie, got the keys to her new condo apartment today (in Kent) and plans on moving in Tuesday with her boyfriend, Brandon. Way to go  Catie Girl!

I picked up Joyce Lee and we headed to 7 Cedars for lunch with Joanne Gilles and Linda Pedersen. I had hash browns with veggies and boy, was it delicious.  We only stayed an hour 'cause we had errands to run and Joyce needed to babysit her granddaughter when she got out of school.  Thankfully, both of us walked away with a little money today.  I made $30 and she made $60.  Had we stayed longer, I'm sure we probably would have lost it.  It wasn't very crowded at all at the casino but we stopped at Costco and it was plenty crowded.  Especially around the free food samples.

I bought a large bag of frozen berries and ended up getting it free when the clerk overlooked it.  The checkout lady at the door noticed it and called 'the guy' to come and write it up. I figured I was going to have to go back to check out again but nope!  Told me to be on my way with free berries.  YAY!

Stopped at Goodwill in Sequim and found exactly what I was looking for.  A flannel sheet that I can use for backing on this baby quilt I'm working on.  Was so pleased to get it as buying it new at Joanne's would have cost me triple the amount.  Filled up my car with gas and then stopped at Ross just to see if maybe they had a down comforter. I wanted a certain kind and much to my surprise, they had some right inside the door on sale.  I got a queen for $30.
Made one last stop at Walmart.  Am thinking I might switch my prescriptions to some other outfit. Just too many times that store has pissed me off!  Jenni went there yesterday to pick up her pills and I asked her to get mine. She wasn't able to because they had "sent them back" because I didn't get there within a week to pick them up.  Course they couldn't be bothered with calling me either.  When I went in today (4th in line) I'm told they won't be ready until tomorrow. Grrrr....  I need to find a drug store closer anyhow.  The customer service at Walmart is continually NOT GOOD!

Two pictures I enjoyed in the Leader this week...
                                                               Isn't that pretty?
This was taken at the Kai Tai Lagoon. Don't even recognize the area with those trees being there and I grew up across the street from this swamp.

This is the view from my back deck. Neighbors have such a pretty yard, and I love their chickens running free.
I decided it was time to downsize a few Christmas decorations. Been meaning to do it for years but I love my decorations so much, it's always hard.  Put pictures of them on Facebook (only asking a buck) but only had one person interested.  Sigh...  Jenni told me nobody's gonna want your old Christmas stuff right after Christmas. Should have advertised before the holiday.  Oh well...  I took them to the casino and talked Linda into taking a couple things.  At least I got my garage shelves cleaned off somewhat.  I'll probably take them to Goodwill at some point.

I plan on driving into Port Townsend on Jan 28th for Edna Nelson's memorial. I always liked Edna.
Anybody want these three items? I can deliver if you're interested.  Free, of course.
                                                           battery operated clock
                                                           duck soap dispenser
                                                                          step stool

I kept the television off this morning as I figured the inauguration stuff will be repeated for days and days.  I've never liked Trump.  And this was way before he was in the running for President.  I felt he was a smug ego maniac bully.  I still think that.  If he proves me wrong and ends up doing good things for the country, then fine.  I'd like to see it happen but I don't imagine it will.  It's going to be a rocky ride.  Period.  He makes my skin crawl.

Tomorrow I'll finish the baby blanket top I've been working on and one day this week I'll get the backing on.  Then I'll get back to work on my book.  I did hear from a woman at the historical society in Illinois that I wrote to (my grandpa was raised there) and she said there was a lot of info on older Blankenships in their files but not so much on the generation that I'm interested in.  She did feel that the family probably migrated to Oregon by wagon in 1891.  I was curious if it was wagon or train. Still curious really.

Mary gave Jenni a helicopter ride around Port Angeles for her birthday. She can invite 3 people too. Cool present!  I got her luggage. Mary and Andy are taking Jake to see the Harlem Globetrotters when they're in town. That should be fun.

I've got four letters to write tomorrow and one card and one email.  Guess I'll head into the kitchen now and get the cod and salmon I bought today packaged up into individual packs for dinners.
