Still White & Snowy Outside

Weather-wise, I guess January is starting like it's supposed to.  Cold temps predicted this week and the snow we got yesterday is just plain sitting out there.  Which basically means, I sit IN HERE!  I just washed dishes and one load of laundry.  Neighbor brought over a large bag of crab last night so Jen and I will crack that later in the day for freezer preparation. Yum!

P.A. paper showed the polar dippers going in the water yesterday. One of the fools was my oldest daughter.  Surprises me really. Can't tell from the picture on the front page if one of them is her.  I took two bird photos in my back yard yesterday.
pretty little hummingbird -- I have a couple of them that have been dive bombing each other around the two feeders I hung on the eave of the back deck.  Enjoy watching them.
Set out a little bread crumbs and one soggy tomato on top of my recycle bin to coax other birds in for a feed.

Mary posted this one of Jake having fun in his backyard with daddy.  He occupied himself with lining up his trucks on the deck. Mary was able to get the tree undecorated while he was out there.

Andy and Mary recently converted a guest bedroom into Jake's new room. So glad she shared his first night in a big boy bed.
My friend, Ann, in Issaquah, shared pictures she took in her yard yesterday. So pretty...

Sure am stuffed up today. Set a fresh pan of water on the stove so I'm hoping that helps a bit. If I wasn't afraid of falling, I'd consider a quick walk around outside  today.  Not even going to give it a second thought, though.

Been watching HBO the last couple of nights. Carrie Fisher had a monologue stage show and it was pretty good.  Amazing how much she looks and sounds like her mom, Debbie Reynolds. Very entertaining show.  And sad too.  Their deaths so close together reminded me of dates I discovered in my own family while working on genealogy.

My Aunt Elva and Uncle George were four years apart in age; Elva being the oldest and they died six weeks apart in 1994.  Another relative (Gertrude, niece of my father's mother) died one week after her son. She was 86 and he was 54.  He died of a heart attack I think.

Granddaughter Catie was working on buying this condo in Renton but the deal fell through so now she's found a second in Kent. About 8 miles from her Aunt Mary.
Well, time to get busy around here. Continuing to concentrate on editing and writing my book. Have decided the next big thing I might buy myself is a new recliner.  Mine needs pillows under me, behind me, behind my neck and I just can't get as comfortable as I'd like.
