Saturday before the game

Going to be a day of writing (I hope) and finishing up a few household chores.  Dishwasher and washing machine are both running and I don't take those conveniences for granted either.  Jenni went out for breakfast with Wayne, Sammy is sleeping in his bed, and I'm sitting in front of my laptop pounding away on keys.

Just sent a note to the Leader on Tom Camfield's latest blog post. Always interesting to see what Tom has to say.  I continue to keep the blond buffoon muted when he shows up on my tv set. Which is way too often to suit me but I might as well get used to it 'cause he loves the limelight.

I finished up the genealogy section of my book yesterday.  Well, for the most part. I may add a couple more details.  Wrote six times more on my dad's paternal line than my dad's maternal line.  Just didn't have any fun details on the Holts, but then I never really got to know any of them.  Same with my mother's side of the family.  I wrote a little on her adopted folks and her birth folks. I've written about her before so I didn't devote too much ink on the subject this time.

I have about 72,000 words but my last book had 82,000 so I wanted to try and think of more topics. A friend in Belgium from my school days (Molly Logan) sent me a list of several subjects  covering childhood and teenage days in Port Townsend so I may give that some thought.  Ideally, I'd like to get some memories from others as my memory vault is kinda lean on some of the subjects she suggested. I wonder what the easiest and best way would be to get folks to respond.  Email and Facebook, I suppose.   Maybe I'll make that a project this week.  Even if I only get a few people to write, it's bound to be more entertaining than just the events in my life.

One of the questions I threw out there was "what actor have you never really cared for all that much?"  That idea came after a conversation Jenni and I had last night. I was watching a Netflix movie (Primal Fear) with Richard Gere and she commented that she didn't like him.  I thought about that and decided I wasn't all that fond of him either. Also not real keen on Tom Cruise or Joaquin Phoenix.

Looking forward to the game tomorrow.  Nothing much else on my agenda for the week. Jen has a Silverdale doctor appt on Thursday so I'll probably drive her. Unless she doesn't want me to.  Got a baby shower next Saturday.  Got four pictures from a cousin in NC of a relative I've written about in my book.  Always wanted to see what she looked like in later life.  She taught school in Seattle for many years and died in Baltimore. She's the niece of my grandpa Gene.  Inez Stark.
Well, best get back to work.
