Woke up early with foot/ankle cramps AGAIN! Been keeping a record although I don't see what good that will do except let me read in black and white that they occurred. Talked to a friend on the phone yesterday and she mentioned she was dealing with the exact same thing. Somehow, that was comforting. She wondered if it didn't have something to do with her back so she bought a new mattress. I decided to take the memory foam off my bed this morning ('cause it's what I do) and we'll see if there's any improvement. Seems like I've gone through this routine over and over again but I never learn anything from it.
I moved to the recliner as it was too early to be up and about. That usually lets me snooze longer without the cramps returning. As I laid there, I didn't know if it was Thursday or Friday. I hadn't pulled the trash out to the alley like I usually do the day before pickup (he comes early) so I had to go retrieve the newspaper that Jenni subscribes to so I could figure out the date. Sigh.... Out I tromp in my slippers and housecoat.
Hunter came over last night to put my new office chair together. I wanted something higher as the back of my knees were bothering me. I really like this one but I'm going to have to find an easier way to climb up to it. It's still kind of a struggle -- and I know how corny that sounds.
I sent Jake a "fun package" last week. Mostly happy meals toys I had picked up when I drove through McDonalds. (his folks haven't taken him there yet) I love it when I get pictures showing him opening the gifts. Almost like I get to be there.
Saw on Facebook this morning that Mary is off to Austin, TX today. She's a busy little girl. Next week it's Miami. I'm traveling too. Monday I'll go to Bremerton to visit Carol Musial while Jenni gets her infusion. The following Monday I'll drive to PT for the annual mill retirement luncheon. I always look forward to those as it gives me a chance to attend a function where I actually know people there. I'll be taking pictures.
Been ten days without cable tv and apparently, I'm doing just fine and dandy. I have Pandora music on most of the time and at night I watch Netflix or Amazon. If I can't find anything all that intriguing I head to bed with a book. Still get drowsy before I've finished a chapter but at least I'm reading more now. I'm into "The year we left home" this week.
My book is nearing completion. I have to go back and add a few more pictures in that I wanted to include and of course, more rereading and editing before I prepare to send it off for printing. Ended up with around 253 pages, up about 70 from my last book. Would have liked to have made the photos larger but the more pages you have, the more expensive it is to have it printed so I'll let it be.
Made a stew in the crockpot yesterday so dinner is taken care of for tonight. Always makes the day nicer knowing I don't have to cook. I baked a pumpkin pie last night too. Just because.
Discovered I had mistakenly taken a box of favorite knickknacks to Goodwill a few weeks ago. Kicking myself about that. Mickey Mouse mugs and paper weights come to mind but I haven't remembered what else yet so perhaps I didn't love them as much as I thought I did.
Can't think of much else to yak about today so back to the book... Oh....here's a picture I scanned from the 1949 Wawa yearbook of the terrace in downtown PT.
