I thought my book as done a few days back but I was wrong. The more I edited, the more I wanted to add or change things. Changed out a few photos, deleted certain passages, added others, etc. Was having a heck of a time getting the pages numbered the way I wanted them and I finally decided to call the help line at the publishers to see what I was doing wrong. Wish I had done that sooner as it seems I wasn't doing one single thing wrong! Sigh...
I didn't think I should have this blank page after I did the steps I needed to do but it appears, a blank page is what you're gonna get. Period. Nothing wrong with that. Except I didn't want a blank page so I found a picture to stick right in the middle of it. Better now.
I'm going to hit the "send" button this morning and get the ball rolling on the book being printed and returned back to me so I can start selling with zest. Been going back and forth on what to charge. One day I think it's not worth $20. The next day I think it surely is. Then too, I had to take into account the cost I'm having towards printing each copy and how I've opted to have free shipping. All that considered, I figured I'd best keep it at $20. Not to mention, I'm probably gifting at least a dozen copies. It's never my intention to get rich on my books but I do need to justify my costs in the end. And I've done that with the pre-orders I've already received. So....all is good!
Went to the mill luncheon in Port Townsend on Monday. Always so much fun to attend an event where you know everyone. I took over 80 photos and luckily, I had a coupon for reprints so I was able to send 84 pictures to Alyce Hansen for only $10. She'll mail out prints to those folks I caught on film. If you want to see them, go to Facebook and look at my albums. Here's a sampling...
Alyce Hanson and Jack Caldwell
Ann Marie & Harry Fountain
Dave Olsen, Pete Inman, WarrenWalvatne, Mike Miller, Tom Ammeter
Jerry Johnson,Larry Louck, Mike Ridgway, Jay Russ
me and Mary Norton
Jerry Charvat
Pat & Carol Plaster
I needed to post that terribly unattractive picture of myself just so I can reminded that I need to get busy at losing weight. Story of my life, and my pictures in my declining years are not making me happy! Ha! I know. So do something about it!
First time I'd seen Charvat in over 30 years! Although he reminded me he was at my dad's funeral in 2009.
Mary and I drove through town before heading back to Sequim and Port Angeles. I took these. One of the Sea Galley restaurant (formerly Surf and the Palms) being renovated or torn down or something? The others were taken at Point Hudson.
Well, guess I'll get a quick start on my chores. Need to run the vacuum, make a Safeway stop, unload the dishwasher, and go for a short walk. Rain or no rain, I've got to get moving. Had my b/p checked at the new clinic downtown yesterday and it continues to rise. Not a good thing when you're in your mid-70s, obese, and way too many people you know are coming down with nasty stuff like dementia, strokes, ALS, heart attacks, etc. It's scary out there.
The LARGE new clinic next to the hospital makes me wonder just where all their money is coming from. Very elaborate and fancy wancy. Way more deluxe than is necessary (in my opinion). You'd have to see it to understand where I'm coming from.
Finished watching Season 2 of Fargo on Hulu and now I have to wait until Season 3 becomes available. Months down the road, I'm afraid, but I'll deal with it. Sure did enjoy it. May even watch season 1 again. I'm watching Southland now and it's really good too.
