Mid April

Not much on my agenda today. Just the way I like it!  Gonna start a second strip quilt as I make an attempt to clean out the many little odds and ends of material that have accumulated in this room. Sometimes I just plain can't bear to toss even small pieces out.  I took the time to set up paper bag holding spots for the various width sizes I seem to have.  It's a slow process but worth the trouble when you eventually have a quilt top. Here the one I finished yesterday. I'll put on the batting and backing another time.

I'm continuing to mail out books, a little at a time. Thankfully, I've sold enough now to reimburse my cost of having them printed. That was all I really wanted to make happen. Besides, that is, having a book out there.  I have a couple in a book store downtown Port Angeles (Odyssey) and about 9 copies in William James Bookseller in downtown Port Townsend.

My casino gang want to get together for lunch next week so now I have at least one thing on my calendar besides a doctor appt.  Have decided to take in the Rhody Parade next month too.  My cousins are coming from Tacoma and my friend, Mary Gaboury, is traveling from Bonney Lake.  My daughter and son-in-law are playing with the idea of coming over too.  I hope so. I don't get to see that cute grandson enough.   Here's some of my latest pictures sent via email and Facebook.

A treat on Easter morning. Looks like happiness to me
Andy sent me this one yesterday called Singing in the Rain
Jen and I sent Jake Easter packages and he loved getting mail. Here he is looking over his stash.

My friend living on Marrowstone Island posted these pictures on her Facebook page of a cougar seen prowling around the island.  Scary....

Jen and I went out for dinner a few nights ago and ran into a couple of her former bank co-workers.  I never run into anybody I know in this town unless I'm with her.

One of my goals for this year is to read more books.  I'm finding it mighty hard too.  Keep falling asleep.  Yesterday I managed to get through 'The Trees' by Conrad Richter. Today I'll start the second in the series called 'The Fields' and at some point, I'll try to locate the third that got a Pulitzer Prize -- The Town.

Well, I think I'll make a quick run over to Jen's house as the roofer's arrived today and I need another picture for my blog.  I know.....get a life Joyce!
Okay....here's three I took...

And while I was out, I snapped a few on the way home.

tulips in a nearby industrial park
another view of my house taken from near Jen's house  - I'm 2nd from the left
a mountain view near my house that is especially cool if it's not foggy
