Rainy Friday

Even though I've been kind of tired and listless all day, I made up my mind to get some sewing projects completed.  Finished two strip quilts.

I've been working steadily to clean out odds and ends of material scraps and these easy to sew quilts was a good way to do it. Here are the others...

Some are better than others.  Once I finish up on this larger one that Jenni wants, I'm going to make some smaller wall hanging quilts. I've made this pattern before called window sash that is easy to do as the batting is sewn on as you do each square and then you put the backing on all four squares afterwards.  Another quick way to use up scraps of material laying around. Here's one I did a few months back.
Well, I guess that's enough sewing talk for today.  I'm thinking of getting back into genealogy searching again. Kind of looking forward to it too.  Otherwise, I'm spending my time reading. Finished 'The Way West' yesterday. Have decided I want to read Pulitzer Prize winners.  I rented the movie 'The Way West' but it was dreadful compared to the book. Starred Robert Mitchum, Kirk Douglas, and Richard Widmark. Oh, and Sally Field too.

Here's some other pics I posted on Facebook recently.
My back has been absolutely refusing to let me bend over and do anything lately so I went to the dollar store and invested in some pretty plastic flowers that I can look at as I sit in my recliner.
UPS brought me a nice Mothers Day gift from Mary and Andy yesterday.  I always like getting postage stamps and cards.
Maddie stopped in to do homework (pre-calculus) as their house was being shown and she couldn't be there then.  Apparently they've already received one or two offers already. You can see a virtual tour if you google 'windermere MLS 310887'

Well, nothing else much to yak about. Going to a birthday party tomorrow so maybe I'll get some good pictures and/or video from that.  Next Saturday I'll be heading to Port Townsend for the parade.
