I wanted to hang the PTHS alumni quilt my sister-in-law made for me so I decided to rearrange some other wall quilts while I was at it. She made the one on the far left too and I made the red one in the middle. And yeah, that's a walker sitting there waiting for me.
This is another wall of creations. I only made a couple of these along with the quilt on the bed and the red bird puzzle on the side wall.
Lill made the heart quilt and I made the 4 seasons tree thing hanging above it.
My loveseat sits on sliders so I really enjoy pushing it around from time to time to try different spots. It's a mental problem.
I wasn't going to set up my sewing machine room until Sept or October but I found myself getting bored and missing the hobby. Mary Gaboury sold me a little tv with a built-in VCR (plus 24 movies) so I just HAD to get it set up and ready for viewing in the sewing room
The fair yesterday wasn't very well attended. Crowds were obviously down from previous years. I didn't get to visit all the exhibits I wanted to because my back started sending little shock waves and ruined my planned visit. Damn nuisance.
Here's a few I did take... You can read descriptions and IDs on my Facebook page as I made an album there.
I heard there was a fist fight? or at the least a very loud argument that went on at the republican booth a few feet down from our Alumni space. Wish I could have seen or heard that. They had a lifesize standing poster of Trump displayed and I wanted to beat it with my stick every time I walked by.
Prices seemed a tad too much at many places. One couple was selling walking sticks and while they looked really great, I wonder if they had any luck in selling as they had $100 and $200 price tags on most of them. Joyce was gonna buy us ice cream cones but they were charging $4 a scoop. We opted to stop at McDonalds on the way home instead. I know the cost of renting a booth space is pretty high so I guess that's the reason for the inflated costs. Too bad. I wouldn't be surprised if more booths go empty next year. I know our booth cost $300 and there's no way we came close to making that on the stuff we were selling.
I did buy raffle tickets on three separate quilts but outside of a hamburger at the IOOF booth, I didn't spend any money at the fair. After our two-hour shift at the alumni booth, we ended up walking around for only an hour more. Joyce and I decided to stop at the casino on the way home to play the slots for a half hour or so. I lost my money but she made about $50.
Work is continuing on the house lots across the street. The largest of the homes will be directly across from my driveway. I think they have about 6 or 7 kids.
Nothing on my calendar all this week. Nothing next week either except a doctor appt.
I may paint a few more rocks, work on my jigsaw puzzle, and see what sewing project I want to start next. Even though it's only August, I can feel the season slowly changing. Had to put an extra blanket on my bed last night.
