Summer haze

Although it looks a little better today, the high sky still appears a tad hazy from the Canada smoke.  At least the wind is blowing a bit so hopefully, it will help move it out of here.  House was hot and muggy last night but I managed okay with the 4 fans I have at my disposal. Took two into the bedroom when fatigue finally won out.

Fitful night of sleep what with the heat and my heel pain.  I've read up on it more this morning to see what else I can do.  Stretching exercises, ibuprofen, inserts, good shoes, and I see ice is recommended. Gonna start that today.  Also read about wearing night splints to bed.  I have this one sandal like shoe that was suggested I wear several years ago when I was having some kind of foot issue. Probably the same thing that's going on now.  It doesn't look exactly like the splints I saw online, though, so I'm going to check out Amazon and see how much they run.

I've got a 7:30 a.m. appt on Tuesday with my doctor as I didn't want to wait three more weeks for the podiatrist.  Not sure what she can suggest outside of what I'm already trying from online help but as much as I pay for medical supplement each month, I'm not going to deny myself a doctor visit when I'm hurting.

I made a Walmart run when Mary G. stopped by yesterday. Probably shouldn't have as I ended up limping all over the store and barely made it back to my car.  Am staying in the next few days. In fact, I think I'll stay put until my Tuesday appt.

I found some finch seed in the garage this morning. Sure glad I opted not to buy any yesterday as I "sorta" thought I might have a bag out there.  Jenni helped me fill two finch bags and then I filled the bird baths and gave the plants on the deck a little water.  No cooking today as I fixed up a bowl of pasta salad yesterday.  So yummy. Threw in some smoked sausage slices, carrots, broccoli, green pepper, a dab of chopped pickle, rotini noodles mixed with mayo.

Foot rest is recommended for plantar fasicitis and resting is something I'm good at. Will work on my jigsaw puzzle and painted rocks before heading to the recliner for reading and cross stitch. I decided to spend a little time and make a nice sampler cross stitch. It's gonna take me months. Pattern is so large I'll have to do it in fourths.  Just getting the border done is going to take a great deal of time.
But I'm not happy if I'm not working on some craft or another

Poor ole Sammy. He just can't seem to get over this problem with his neck and/or back.  Been going on for a while now and pain pills help for a bit but seems like when he gets up in the morning, he's super bad again.  Can barely move.  Definitely wants to be near Jenni. If she goes out on the front porch, he lays inside the door and whimpers.

Watched a documentary on Amazon last night about the upcoming complete eclipse on Aug. 21.  Wish I could get a ride to Oregon or Idaho so I could actually be in the path of seeing the real thing.

Here's a picture I took of Mary with her nephew, Mike McConaghy and his daughter, Elena.
