I've had eggplant Parmesan two nights in row for dinner but not big helpings and besides, it's a vegetable for crying out loud! Maybe I'll go take a spoonful of Pepto and see if that helps. Damn nuisance. And I guess that's enough sharing on my body functions for today.
There's a slight wind blowing right now and I hope it sticks around. Weather forecasts are saying we're in for high temps. Every time I hear that, I always hope maybe they're wrong. I'm no fan of hot weather.
Jenni just left to run a couple errands and took Sammy with her as she plans on going over to the rental for a few hours. Sue is expected sometime this afternoon to do a bit of weeding for me. Hope she arrives before it gets too hot.
My activities are pretty much repeating themselves this week. Various household hobbies......
I bought a couple of books at the book reading I went to last week. Am enjoying the stories by local authors a lot. And Linda Myers is one of my favorite writers too. I bought four of her books. She has a column in the Sequim paper the first Wed. of each month.
My jigsaw is coming right along too and I sit down to play around with it at least once a day.
I painted front and backs of a few rocks I picked up at the beach last week and will copy ideas I saw on Etsy and Pinterest. It's a relaxing hobby.
I've got a lot of beach glass and wanted to try and make some mobiles. I need a drill, however, and Catie told me what to get as you need a diamond point for glass holes. She has one so I may wait until she comes to town so I can drill them all at once while she's here.
Mary posted a picture of them swimming with dolphins. They're on a Caribbean cruise with her friend Jenny Liden Erickson and her family.
Mary Gaboury is coming by tomorrow morning with her nephew, Mike McConaghy as Mike's daughter is having some car maintenance done and Mary needs to make a Walmart run. Think I might head over that direction with her. We're going to man the alumni booth at the county fair on the 13th. We've decided we need to wear red and white. I'm going to put on my old Townsend button too. Joyce Lee is also going to sit with us. Then we'll browse a few booths, enter some raffles, buy a burger, take pictures, and head on home.
Made an appt to see the foot doctor (both heels are causing me grief) but as I suspected, I can't get in for a month. Just have to bite the bullet and deal with it, I guess.
Have been less than thrilled with my "free" Pandora channel on my tv so I pulled out some old CDs to play on my DVD player today. Kind of nice to hear those again. I also
found some terrific cassette music but I'll have to play them on a boom box that only behaves off and on.
Nothing else going on. Going to look over my two new vegetarian cookbooks for new recipes and wait patiently for the scale to reflect the fact that I'm not eating ice cream, candy, pastries, cookies, chocolate, or coffee. Not much bread either but my goal is to get off bread entirely. Not the easiest thing for me but I'm satisfied that ice cream hasn't been in the freezer. I did buy some popsicles that were labeled fruit and vegetable flavors. I've had one so far and it's not half bad.
And here's a cute picture I saw on Facebook.
Keep cool.
