My intention has always been to prowl parking lots searching for the perp's getaway vehicle. Perp stands for perpetrator, by the way. I watch a lot of police shows. ha ha
Yesterday I thought I'd cruise through the Safeway lot where I was robbed. As I was pulling in, I saw THE CAR leaving the lot. I knew right away that was the car and I proceeded to follow her. Wasn't easy as she sped most of the way but I was on a mission from God. (I'm in a mood this morning) As we got to the neighborhood grocery (my neighborhood grocery) there is a four-way stop. I was right behind her, pulled out my camera and took a couple shots of her license plate. Of the seven letters and numbers, I had five of them correct on the police report I gave six days earlier. I'm surprised I even got that close as I was shaking like a leaf.
I stayed behind her as she winded her way home. I know she realized I was following her but I knew the streets she was on as this is my neighborhood. She pulled into this sleezy mobile home park known as a druggie place. Why am I not surprised. I kept on driving and went around to the front of the park and entered that way. Started cruising slowly looking up and down for the car. Finally saw her parked in the back next to a beat up trailer with a tarp on top. I was on a deadend street by this time so I drove slowly past her place. I looked at her and her and her passenger looked at me. I pulled a U-turn and did the same thing going back. I went about a block and was going to leave the park but sat there for a minute waiting for her to get out. I watched her through my rear-view mirror. They sat tight for a long time, not getting out. I thought that was interesting and decided to sit tight myself.
Once they realized I wasn't going anywhere they got out. It was her. Her passenger waved at me and I left. Downloaded the picture to my computer and called the cop on my case. Not sure if he was on duty as I'm still waiting for him to show up. I'll give him until this afternoon and call again. My daughter doesn't want me playing detective and she's probably right since these scumbags do know my address. Still, it's not right that they get away with that and you know they're going to victimize someone again.
I figure if any damage is done to my house after the episode of yesterday, that will only clinch the fact that yes, that was the woman who took my purse. She was in her 20's, and if I was younger, I would have stopped and beat the crap out of her. ha ha Oh, I talk tough, don't I?
Today will be a quieter time for me. Finished posting 248 photos on the Jefferson County Washington of Yesterday facebook page and 39 on the Port Townsend Washington fb page. Getting lots of visitors to it so the time and effort was well worth it. Going to head to the sewing room today. I've got five small quilt tops done and need to get them finished with batting and backing. Waiting eagerly for my new debit and credit cards to arrive as I'm unable to do much without them. Even my Netflix movies were stopped until I update a new payment method.
Granddaughter Maddie was named Rotary Student of the Month and will attend a luncheon next Thursday with her folks. She is also being photographed by the newspaper that day as she signs the papers on her intention to attend Central College in Ellensburg. She and her boyfriend are visiting Mary and Andy today. Went over yesterday and Mary said Jake was driving her nuts asking over and over...when will they get here. Maddie's boyfriend was also recently robbed. His wallet and backpack and all his belongings at some place in Bellingham.
Well, my only chore today is to use up some aging veggies in the fridge by making a small pot of soup. Isn't that interesting? A month from tomorrow I'm going on a road trip with a friend to Cannon Beach, Oregon. I haven't been to the Oregon coast in several years so I'm excited about it. And she's driving so this is really a treat for me. Will park my car at cousin Cindy's in Gig Harbor.
two cute cartoons today...
