THIS ISN'T OVER

I was robbed today.  In broad daylight in the Safeway parking lot.  I’m usually a little more observant and suspicious but my guard was down because my hips were killing me and I needed to get that cart back so I could sit down in my car.  I knew immediately I had been robbed as I saw my back door open a bit and I knew I had closed it.  Also saw this car race off that was nearby.  I thought I got the license number but I must have misread it or didn’t recall it correctly as the police said it wasn’t a valid number.

What the little snot who robbed me doesn’t know, however, is that I have OCD to a degree and I’m going to investigate this little incident myself.  I got a sorta? number, I got a look at her, and I know what her car looks like and what color it is.  PA isn’t that big and I’ve got plenty of time and gas money to motor myself around town for weeks if I need to until I spot that little shit!  I’ll have my new cell phone by then and can call the police immediately instead of having to walk into Safeway to make a call like I did today.  I should have just jumped in my car and raced after her. I saw which way she went and I might have caught up to get a really good license number.  Probably just as well I didn’t, though.  After I made my police report and was driving home half crying and very shaken, I must have pulled out in front of this HUGE white pickup truck.  He was not pleased.  Got on my tail after laying on his horn for a good 5 seconds or more and continued to tailgate me for several miles. I figured I’d just drive to Jenni’s instead of my house and once we both stopped, I would get out and tell him what he could do with his horn!  I was plenty ticked myself by this time.

When the cop was taking all my info, he didn’t ask for my address. I asked him why and he said “I think we have you on file.”  ha ha  Probably that period of time I lived next door to a party house and was calling the cops every weekend at 2 a.m. when they woke me up.  Having been a late party person myself back in the day, at first I tried to be patient but that went out the window once my sleep was interrupted more than once, I found my yard littered with beer bottles and watched a guy pee on my car tire. Enough already!

It’s a real pain to go through everything you have to when your wallet and all your cards are stolen. My phone is on my daughter’s account so she was able to shut it down right away.  I made the necessary phone calls and was irritated beyond my limit as the bank’s automated phone system required I sit and listen to what a great bank they are and everything they can offer.  I was at my daughter’s house using her phone during this process so I had to zip my lip and not cuss the way I normally would.  She doesn’t like it when I’m impatient.  And the Visa guy, of course, didn’t speak English so you could understand what he was saying. Another thing that drives me straight through the roof!

On the plus side, I did take a $100 endorsed check out of my purse just before going out the door so they didn’t get that.  Another plus – my wallet was wearing out and I’ve been putting off buying a new one.  Am gonna’ miss that purse, though.  My hope is that they tossed it out the window and some honest person will find it and call the police. I don’t put a lot of confidence in that occurring, though. I assume there are still honest people out there somewhere. Way too many lowlifes prowling our streets these days. My poor grandson lost thousands when they ripped off his tools last summer. I hate thieves.
