10:30 a.m. Finished just about all I'm going to do in the way of chores today. Unloaded the dishwasher, washed a load of laundry, made beds, took a shower, and paid bills. Wind is blowing (again) and it halfway looks like rain. I don't care. I do plan on heading down to the beach area (by the coast guard station) to see if I can't get a little bit of walking in. I'll have to use both my sticks because my body (especially my back) seems to have the idea that exercise is a useless activity and not good for anything. Wrong! I did venture out a little bit a few days ago but only down the alley. Suspect that was a mistake as I noticed an awful lot of scotch broom back there. Don't think it was there last year but I do have that nasty weed growing in the neighborhood all around me. I had allergy issues with my eyes the next few days. And now...I'm going to have to quit typing here because my r. thumb is screaming bloody murder at me. Arthritis I suppose. I did rub on a bit of pot cream but I can see I'm going to have to curtail typing for a while too. More later....
4 pm Well, so much for that day. For whatever reason I'm having a heck of a time with body pain today. Thumb and back but my ears are ringing too and as usual, I'm sooooo tired. Never did get that walk in yet and I probably won't today. What walking I did do was way harder than it needed to be. I took a nap in the recliner and the phone woke me up. Jenni was garage saleing and said there were a lot of VHS movies at this one place she visited. I decided I might as well force myself up as the sale was near the library and I did want to stop there today. Got a book I read about online called Defending Jacob. Yard sale gave me three movies for a quarter each. Vertigo with James Stewart, Yankee Doodle Dandy with James Cagney, and West Side Story.
I took my walking stick into the library but as sometimes happens, I needed to get back to my car and seated right away. I decided to drive across town to McDonalds. It was 12:10 and the line was long. Didn't really matter, though, they've got a real good system going and you can get through fast. Much better than Port Townsend and I told them so.
I came on home but just couldn't get my energy level up to accomplish much so I took another nap. Phone woke me up again so I decided to work on the last quilt I have going in the sewing room. Got it pinned with the batting and backing so tomorrow I will sew it up. On a good day, I would have stuck with it but I knew my limit today and called it quits. Stuck a small cornish game hen in the oven with carrots and potatoes and baked up a small pan of brownies. Surely, that will do the trick!
I've been using this prescription nasal spray (when I remember) as my ears are continuing to hurt and ring. Teeth are kind of achy too but I suppose that's from having them cleaned the other day. Am hoping tomorrow improves. I'm fairly certain my sleeping patterns have been contributing to my all day long fatigue. Last night I went to bed at 10 on my firm mattress. Two hours later I was still tossing and turning. Transferred to the memory foam mattress in the back room and slept until 4. Then I woke up hurting again (hip bursitis, nightmares, headache) so I transferred to the recliner for two more hours. Then I tried going back to my firm mattress but the body was in a pissy mood and wouldn't relax so I threw in the towel and got up.
Usually a hot shower will fix me up but it wasn't working today. I'm going to work with my bike exerciser pedaler now and do some stretching to see if I can't get a head of the pain. Damn nuisance! When it gets this bad, I can only be on my feet for ten minutes and I have to sit down. Pain disappears immediately but this whole routine has been going on for several years. Probably some nerve thingie in my back. We'll never know. Okay. Are you bored yet? I am.
Starting watching a Denmark Netflix special last night. A sci-fi series called The Rain.
It was dorky but I kept watching anyhow and now I have to see what happens.
I need to go out and pull the two garbage cans back to the upper yard from the alley. I'm dreading it as walking across the uneven yard doesn't help my back any. Sue is supposed to come mow tomorrow (I hope) so maybe I'll wait and see if she'll do it for me. The wind has been blowing steadily all day long. The tree leaves are still moving pretty good. No rain yet, though. I had taken a couple of pictures with my phone and sent them to myself so I could edit them a bit and have something to post on my blog but.... for whatever reason, neither has shown up. And I sent them twice. Guess I'll post one I put on Facebook this morning. It was taken either on graduation day or right around that day. 57 years ago today! Karen Cuykendall and Sharon Lindsay.
And here's a cartoon I kept as I identified with it.
Today is the 52nd birthday of my half sister in NC. Happy Birthday Mare!
I called Medicare the second time after getting the code number and got the runaround again. Said the price was unavailable and until the bill was submitted, they couldn't tell me if they would pay anything at all. No explanation. So, the hell with it!
I'm not paying $200 to find out I don't have it in my genes.
I was looking over the list of people in my class (both graduating seniors and those who went most of the way through) and I found that there were few funerals I attended. Either they died far away or I was away. I guess. Of the girls, I attended a service for Judy Bare, Sharon Lindsay, and Linda Wilson. Of the guys, just Jim Pedersen. Although I will attend Dave Marriott's this Sunday. That's not very many considering we had 39 pass away.
Well, Maddie just dropped in to use my computer so that's it for now.
