This day sure seemed to move along quickly. I had kind of a crummy night sleeping so I'm hoping things will be better tonight. I transferred from my firm mattress bed to my foam mattress bed around midnight and then moved to the recliner at 4:30 a.m. Arthritis I guess. Body just ached to high heaven. My left upper arm has been causing me grief since the first of July and doesn't seem to be letting up one little bit! I guess I'll just have to keep exercising the arm hoping it improves. Don't know what other options are left since the cortisone shot didn't work and the x-ray just showed arthritis in the shoulder. She still didn't think that where the arthritis showed up on the film would be causing the arm to ache the way it does and her solution was physical therapy. I do have some diagrams to follow but I have my doubts they'll help. I had occasion this morning to use my arms and muscles and all I got for my effort was REAL SORE MUSCLES.
On a positive note, my earaches have eased up (maybe even left--got my fingers crossed). The tinnitis ringing is still there but I've put up with that off and on for years and at least it doesn't HURT!
I may have to invest in a little pot that I can puff with my vape stick if this arm doesn't improve at some point. I've got the cream but it doesn't seem to work most of the time. Think I'll go slather some more on when I finish this post.
Jenni and Wayne picked me up at 9 a.m. and took me to Costco in Sequim. First thing I noticed on the drive was how the trees are turning. Sure is pretty coming down Morris Creek Road. Was nice to get to Costco right when it opened. No crowds yet. I picked up some Jimmy Dean croissant breakfast sandwiches (love those things), a huge roll of toilet paper (got hooked on Costco TP after Jenni gave me a dozen rolls). Also picked up a big package of fish. Yum. Gotta divide it up into individual baggies later this afternoon. Our main reason for going, however, was to let me sit in this recliner they had on sale for $350. Jenni had seen them a couple days ago and sent me a picture of it. She said this morning that half the chairs were already gone since she'd been there.
We saw one sitting on those flatbed carts they have and we thought "how convenient they put one down for us to just wheel to checkout. I sat in it and was pleased so we pushed it out to Wayne's truck and he loaded the large box into his bed. THANKFULLY ....Jen looked at the box before climbing into the cab and said: I don't think this is the same chair. AND IT WASN'T! Man oh man, were we thankful she caught that. I'd hate to have got it home and out of the box before realizing our mistake. Plus it was $50 more but I didn't catch that upon checkout.
Anyhow, we wheeled it back in, got my money back, and proceeded to go get the correct model. As it was, the chair we mistakenly bought wasn't even the same brand. We drove back to PA and Wayne proceeded to put it together for me. I took one of my recliners (the back came off for easy relocation) and we stuck it in the garage. I put an ad on the Clallam County sell site and am hoping someone will come pick it up. It's in real good shape and I'm only asking $40.
My new chair is brown leather (or close to leather?) and very comfy. It has a remote with it that raises the foot rest and lowers it. Another button gives me a massage and heat. On the side is a UHB
port that I can plug my laptop into if I want to bring it over to my lap. The remote lets the back go down almost completely horizontal for napping. I'm real happy with it and am calling it my birthday present to myself.
When I woke up from my nap a few minutes ago, I noticed these red blotchy marks on my right forearm. A friend told me she gets them real bad because she takes aspirin and it has something to do with your blood clotting and your skin being thin -- or something. Anyhow, I don't take aspirin, even baby aspirin but yesterday I did take one. I can't help but wonder if that one little pill caused this red rash. I did take ibuprofen at midnight and 5:30 so I maybe that was it but I don't know......
Don't think I'm going to get any sewing done today. Dragging too much. Amazes me how I just can't function worth a damn if my sleeping pattern is interrupted. Can be a problem when you're older, I think. I never used to have sleep issues. Now, my my day is shot if I don't get enough sleep. Guess I'll have to get used to the idea of daily naps. I was going along pretty well there for a while not needing them. But oh well, I am 75 years old. Sigh......
Here's a picture of my chair. Now I'm going to take a shot of my little tree in the back yard that is turning color. Want to use both my cameras and my phone to see which gadget takes the best photo.
