I wish I knew of an easier way to save stuff on cassettes as I have a few other gems that I'd like to keep. One was a letter I "talked" to Joe when he was in Kuwait in 1991. My letter was absolutely cornbally. But I'm sure at the time I thought he would totally love it. ha ha The beginning is me trying to get Catie to say a few words. She was two and me talking to her urging her to say "shoes" was SO GRAMMA LIKE! She'll enjoy listening to her voice when I share it with her. Mary is in the background and getting discouraged that Catie won't repeat any of the words I'm trying to get her to say. Mary starts saying "Say Butthead!" We all thought that was pretty funny at the time. At one point I'm telling Catie to say "We hate SayDam" Mary correct me and says SAWDAM!
Another tape from Nov. 30, 1997, has me interviewing my dad, Marcella, aunt Lorraine, and aunt and uncle Lillian and Jim. They're all dead now so I treasure getting to hear their voices. And yet another tape is one Joe mailed home where he's in his tank and telling about his day. Another tape was me practicing for a speech I gave at Toastmistress Club in January of 1985. It was on Nostradamus and it was kind of interesting if I do say so myself. I remember when I announced my subject that night -- all those ladies looked at me like I was a screwball. ha ha
I also went through the house and rounded up a few clothes and other items to donate. Heard of two places in PA (didn't want to use Goodwill) and I'll google them later and find out their hours. Gave my clothes a good looking over and three of the tops were like brand new but I looked like hell in them and decided it was silly to let them remain in the closet. I'm also donating my old wig, a blanket, lots of fat lady pants, and a couple knickknacks.
Then I refilled the 16 little canning jars I'm giving for Xmas gifts. I had done various cross stitch designs for the lids and filled them with coins, candy, and dodads. Decided my candy just wasn't cutting it so I dumped the unwrapped pieces out and replaced with this pretty wrapped candy I bought at Costco. Much more decorative and tastes better too.
Just noticed a beautiful yellow tree outside my sliding glass door. I can see it from my laptop and I think it needs to have a picture taken. And I think I'll take one of the little trees in my yard too.
That's about it for my Sunday. Now off to work. (I mean play)
