Alex is on his knees just outside my bedroom door right now. Been here the last four days and should finish up today or tomorrow. I pretty much confine myself to this room as I've got everything in here I need -- computer, tv, bathroom, food, books, bed. The house has been tore up since November so I'm anxious to see everything put back together again. Here's what it's gonna' look like.
Got my Social Security raise today. $25. Now I'm waiting to see who takes it away from me. I figure it will be cable, utilities, or some insurance. My social calendar is starting to fill up like it usually does at the first of the year. Medical appts. Getting my eyes checked (ophthamologist) on Feb. 7 and a consultation with a surgeon on Feb. 11. I've felt so punk these past months so finally decided to see if anything could be done. After an ultrasound, it was decided the gallbladder needs to go. Fine with me. Yank that sucker out! I'm sick and tired of being nauseated and feeling tired and run down.
The last couple days have had me limping around in pain. Good ole sciatica. I tried doing the exercises I saw online but man, my attempts sure didn't look anything like the video I watched. I felt like humpty dumpty trying to do even the easy ones. Irritating. I took the foam mattress off my bed thinking a firm surface would surely help my back but I had a HORRIBLE night. Put the foam back on last night and slept much better. Sciatica is still here but I'm not nearly as miserable as I was yesterday and the day before.
Went to Paul Jacobsen's house on Monday to work on stuffing envelopes and making plans for the CZ retirement luncheon in March. He has the neatest place on Oak Bay Road.
The next day I went to 7 Cedars casino with Mary, Joanne, and Jenni. Lunch was great but as usual, I don't think any of us won anything. We ate in the 7 Brothers Restaurant this time. A first for me. It was pretty good. I had a Rachel sandwich. Basically, a reuben without sauerkraut and cole slaw instead. Had a cup of clam chowder too. It was delicious. A little more expensive than Napoli's where we usually eat, though.
My favorite picture this week.... Jake taking Poppy for a walk.
I'm looking forward to getting my sewing room put back together. Wayne is going to help me move the single bed in there so it will be a little nicer room for overnight guests and closer to the bathroom. It has new carpet as of this week too. I tried to sell that tv but got no takers so I'm kind of glad now that I'll have it for entertainment while I'm in there sewing.
Well, I see the golf pros I like are going to be playing today so think I'll hook my laptop up to the tv in here and settle in to watch.
