Moving Slow Today

Derek the cute carpet cleaner guy arrived at 9 a.m. to clean some of my rugs. He laid down plastic in the garage and I didn't even hear the machine running. Only took an hour.  Later I pulled them to the deck to dry out more in the sun. They're all in the house now and look a lot nicer.
Had three errands to run and wasn't looking forward to it as I woke up stiff and achy all over. Story of my life a lot of the time. I figured I'd be fine pushing a cart around Walmart but it was a challenge walking from one end of that large box store to the other.  I suspect the day is getting closer when I'm going to have to give in and use one of the electric carts.  I'm hoping today was just an off day as those carts aren't the easiest things to steer, turn, and stop.  But I'll worry about that another day.

I ended up having to buy a new iron. I had got goop on mine last November and tried everything under the sun to get it clean.  None of the suggestions online helped so I put the iron away for another day. Today was the day I pulled it out (had forgot my previous sticky problem) and immediately got a big ole black mark on my tee shirt.  I took it to the kitchen sink and tried again to get the plate clean. I may invest in some of that stuff at Joanne's but I hesitate to spend the money if Goo Gone didn't work. Either did baking soda and vinegar.   I don't have to iron a lot EXCEPT when I'm sewing and then you absolutely need an iron.

Got a package on my porch yesterday. I forget that the mailman delivers Amazon on Sundays. Got a big ole fat crossword puzzle book and a CD. Soundtrack from A Star is Born. Bought it mainly for Shallow by Lady Gaga but I hear the whole CD is good.

The new flooring was finished in five days. Now I'm trying (little by little) to put the house back together again.  The back bedroom (used to be the guest room) is now called 'The Library'. I got rid of a lot of my books which took up one whole wall in the entryway hallway. Thought I had a picture of the bookcases as they used to be but I couldn't find it. Anyhow, I am disposing of three or four wood knickknack shelves and put all my little kk's on one shelf of one of the bookcases.  Here's how half of my book collection used to look and how it looks now.

I have cookbooks and crossword books in the kitchen and yearbooks and others in my bedroom but over all, I managed to get rid of quite a pile.  'The Library' will take me a while to clean but it's mainly going to be for storage of this and that so at least I don't have to spend a lot of time on it.

My sewing room is pretty much set up now that the twin bed is in there but I still have to bring some supplies in from the mess waiting in 'The Library.'  All in good time. I put a couple of stacking shelves in the closet to hold various odds and ends.

Since the bookcases are in the back room now it opened up the entryway much better.  I hung a few quilt pieces up there for now.

Next week I'll see an ophthalmologist. Just a checkup to make sure I don't have anything. I had an ultrasound last week and lo and behold, I have to see a surgeon in February to consult on having my gall bladder out.  Supposed to get in and out the same day as they do it quick and easy these days. I sure hope it helps me feel better. I've felt punky for months.

Our local news has told of a triple murder here in P.A. Druggies of course.  Put 2591 Lower Elwha Road in your computer for Google maps and you can see the "compound" of where it all went down. It's only 5 miles from here. My son-in-law told me he's had to deliver FedX there before and it was obvious it wasn't an inviting place. Said they had pit bulls in the yard going nuts when he arrived so he left the package outside the gate. The owner (since arrested as the shooter) yelled at him to bring the package to the door as "those dogs aren't gonna hurt you!"  He opted not to.  He went by there the other day just to see what was going on and said there were a ton of police vehicles up and down the road. They were going over the place with a fine tooth comb. GOOD!

Finished my brother's latest book XC and it was a thriller!  Look for it on Amazon. You'll love it. His author name is Dage Corvish.

Well, I guess I'll get my jammies on and settle in to find something on Netflix or Amazon Prime. Suspect it's gonna freeze tonight. Air feels especially nippy.
