On my list of to-do chores today is pay bills. So not in the mood so I'll write a quick morning blog instead. Even if it's boring. Jen is picking me up in an hour and a half so we can hit Walmart. I only need a couple of items but I'll be taking the cane along and moving slowly. Just as soon have someone with me. Using a cane is means you have to take things slow and pay attention to what you're doing. I kind of got my hopes up yesterday. I woke up still hurting but it did seem like I was walking easier and I prayed the hip bursitis was winding down. But no. Not just yet. This morning I got out of bed and was reminded -- patience is the name of the game. Not my strong suit either!
I still managed to get things done, though. Finished a jigsaw puzzle. I know. Big deal! I also got a few bobbins wound and started to sort through a box of material I wanted to use for a new sewing project. Need something to take my mind off my aches and pains. I moved a small table to the living room that was in my bedroom and that was no small feat 'cause I had to use my left hand on the cane.
I decided I needed pictures of the grandkids displayed where I can see them more frequently. They were in the back bedroom which I now call the library.
Yesterday marked one year since I was robbed. Still agitates me that I know who did it and where she lives and what her name is and the cops say they can't do a thing. Now's when I wished I had a Tony Soprano in my life. And yes, I'll be mad about that purse snatching until the day I die!
Woke up to unsettling dreams again. Nothing new there. This one had George Cadero in it and Tom Moss. Both deceased. I hope that doesn't mean anything but then again, a whole lot of people in my memory bank are deceased now. Just the way it is.
Hunter's girl friend posted a few pictures on FB of her trip down to Avondale to visit him. Sure was happy to see them. They're both so cute. Mary texted me a picture of Poppy recuperating from her "operation". Poor thing.
I started watching a movie on Amazon last night called Absentia. I'd already lost interest in Hanna which I thought would keep me hooked longer. But nope. I'm easily bored these days. Gonna' have to make it a point to alter my habits and pick up more books. Not much on my April calendar so far. One followup with the surgeon on the 25th and that's it. Two of my daughters have wedding anniversaries this month and there's always Easter. Although I don't usually do much for Easter.
Well, think I'll head over to Youtube and watch some more quilt videos of Darlene Michaud. Gotta see what else she does with strips. Think I'll check out the Blossom videos too on tips for around the house. They come up every now and then on my phone and are fascinating to watch. You can get hooked on those phone videos. Last night I started watching one where this guy devised a rat trap with a ping pong paddle and a bucket. Rat after rat after rat went up the little ladder and into the bucket. It was both nauseating and addicting. And my sense of humor is getting more and more like a cactus after I laughed and laughed at a thing I saw on Facebook......
Son: Mom, can I sleep with you? I'm scared.
Me: No! I can't risk the monster following you into my room and killing me.
There is definitely something wrong with anybody who would think that's funny but I DO!
