I woke up feeling halfway decent this morning, and I don't take that for granted. My shot arm (pneumonia) is still sore, swollen, and red (now itchy as well) but at least it didn't keep waking me up like the first two nights. I picked up this gel insert for under your toes at Rite Aid ('cause I have something called Morton's Neuroma) and much to my delight, it has helped me walk without limping. Of course, the walking part usually depends on what the hip bursitis is doing -- and right now I've had a reprieve. Also not taking that for granted.
Since I woke up rested and feeling better than I usually do, I decided today would be a good day to fast. I just wish I could remember to NOT take my morning pills ALL AT ONCE on an empty stomach. I don't know why I have such a hard time with that but I do. I ended up feeling nauseated and ran to the bathroom to throw up! I couldn't believe it. And I was feeling so damn good. But all is well. I recovered nicely after puking. ha ha
I've been testing out various table arrangements to try and assess where I'm most comfortable using my laptop and my larger PC. I need to figure out what works the best before I move to a small one- bedroom apartment across town. I've downsized very successfully but still have tables to GIVE AWAY in the garage. Five of them no less. I've got an ad for free pick up that will run Mon and Tues of this week in the PA paper and they're also listed on the Clallam County free website. Perfectly fine tables too!
Anyhow, my office (formerly my sewing room) has my old sewing table set up with my large PC and I've been trying to use my old red desk alongside it for both computers. Just wasn't working for me. I either couldn't see the large monitor which I had moved back or I didn't like the height I had to use for the keyboard. I'll figure it out eventually. I will need to keep my kitchen table in the living room area by the bar and I planned to use it for dining, crafts, sewing, and computer work. If I can, though, I want to have another table in there to hold my large PC and printer. Course the printer might end up in my bedroom as it is wireless and doesn't need to be right next to the computer. Am I boring you yet? haha
I want to keep that old beat up red desk. I bought it for $5 back in the 60s at a yard sale in Bellingham and it's traveled with me everywhere I've lived. One way or another, it gets to live with me! For the time being, I've moved my small laptop to the kitchen table so I can sit here and watch tv. When I want to play games, I head into the "office" and occupy myself there. Have to get more RAM installed on that PC, though, as it's running terribly slow. I sure am enjoying the games I can play (if I tolerate the ads) -- crosswords, jigsaws, freecell, solitaire, bingo, mazes, etc.
Last night I surfed around on Amazon Prime trying to find something of interest. I am so bored with
a lot of the shows being presented as "customer favs". All pretty much aimed at a younger (and stupid) audience. I settled in to watch a Nicholas Cage flick with Julian Moore but why I sat through it, I'll never know. Too lazy to find something else, I suppose. It was called 'Next' and I must have said "Oh brother, give me a break!" six times. I did watch a comedy special with Jim Gaffigan. Love that guy! Before fatigue sent me to bed, I started watching "Then Again" with Herbie J. Pilato. He interviews old stars of the past and if you can tolerate ole Herbie forever touting his own name, it can be a fun show to watch. I'm heading back to it tonight. I've got golf on right now and will probably keep it on all day. My subscription to YoutubeTV runs out at the end of the month.
I decided to take a quick spin around town early this morning just to see if I could find something interesting to photograph. They're kind of lame but this is what I came home with......
this small park downtown next to the courthouse has been a favorite hangout for the homeless. Lots of folks disgusted with how the area has been littered and ruined. A fence was erected with keep out signs, barricades, and some folks with vests on guarding the area yesterday.
I wondered where the bums went (we all know they'll return eventually) and I found a few on the beach downtown.
I should have focused to get a better picture but a couple noticed me and I felt guilty.
You can't see much from where I was in the car but I didn't feel like driving closer. Some kind of aid call on Laurel Street.
another big old ship in the bay
A piano is set up down by the fountain for people to play
a few of downtown at the top of some steps
Where my daughter, Sue, works full time now. In the deli. She loves it.
My calendar for the coming week and the week after is empty of any activities. Oh wait, I notice I pull out the trash bins on Thursday and I see a podiatrist the following Wed. Yep! My exciting life continues. I've got my counted cross stitch box sitting by my recliner to occupy me during the night time tv watching and pulled out some knitting needles to play around with, as well. Books are also sitting nearby but for some reason, I just can't get interested in what I checked out of the library. Maybe I need to make another trip up there. I suppose I could do that today.
Hope your summer is moving along nicely.
