I've been working steadily all week on wrapping Christmas gifts. Tomorrow I'll fix up the packages that have to be mailed. Still waiting on a couple presents to arrive but I somehow managed to get way ahead of schedule this year and got things done early.
Not sending out cards and I wasn't going to bake cookies and bread but I've since changed my mind on the kitchen goodies. Think I'll make some sugar cookies with frosting, even though they're a pain to roll out, cut, and frost. Also want to make these almond cookies I used to bake with maraschino cherries and coconut. Pumpkin cookies are easy so I'll whip those out and a couple breads -- orange nut and cranberry.
I'm going to head into Port Townsend one day next week but haven't decided on a day yet. Will wait each morning to see how the weather is. I'm not all that enthused about driving in stormy weather or even rain if I can avoid it. But then, if I don't get the baking done, I may postpone the trip until the following week. It'll be a tiring trip. It always is as I have several stops to make but.....it's a good photo opportunity and my blog needs some new stuff.
Dropped by Jen's house this morning to see how Sammy was doing. They bought him a little wheelchair to hook up and help him walk as his back legs quit working. He was moving (without the wheelchair) when I was there but he's very unsteady and it's hard for him to walk on hardwood floors as he keep losing his grip. Poor baby.
I did get a kick out of Jenni's tree, though. She bought these elf legs for decoration. Too funny.
I probably should try to blog at this time of day. It's my slump period and my body and mind are both running in neutral. Can't think of much to yak about so I guess I'll look through some old photos and see if I can't find something interesting. Couldn't find what I wanted so I went back a few years to look at old blog posts. Here's what I found:
Andy and Jake ice skating then and now......
Denny Blankenship and Dick Freitas in front of Denny's house on Franklin St
A Facebook funny that still makes me laugh
