I was able to finish reading one of the books I've had sitting by my recliner (Lying next to you) with Wa. State places mentioned. Good book and a surprise ending. I'm almost through the biography of Jerry Lee Lewis and it's been very entertaining too. Always liked his music. Still do. My YoutubeTV subscription ran out yesterday so I'm back to being entertained with the free channels on my ROKU along with Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Hulu. I think I'm going to subscribe to PBS this week. It's only $5 or $6 and they have a lot of good stuff on there.
I streamed in 'Once upon a time in Hollywood' the other night (from Prime- $5.99) and it was pretty good. At first I thought it was just a so-so movie but it got better as it went along and I loved the ending. I also rented Joker and it was dark but good.
Right now I've got old episodes of Donna Reed playing. Lee Aaker was in this episode. He was Rusty on Rin Tin Tin -- a show us kids always tuned into. He was born 3 days after me. Here's how he looks now.
I'm continuing to sew quilt blocks (one a day) from my favorite pattern book. More than once I've picked a pattern 'cause I thought it was easy and discovered IT WASN'T! Such was the case today. I had a hell of a time making that block look like it was supposed to. Had to rip out over and over. Here's out it turned out.
When I finally finished it, I figured out why it probably gave me so much grief. It's called Memory Lane and that's where my ex lives. ha ha ha ha
Here's another I did a couple days ago. The one on the left is how it's supposed to look and the one on the right is my screw up because I cut out wrong colors for one of the templates.
Sometimes when I'm bored (happens more frequently lately) I'll go online and look around. I discovered microsoft's map feature so I started putting in addresses of various folks to see if I could get pictures. Depended on the area they lived in most of the time but they were different pictures than Google maps. Here's one of Mary and Andy's house that shows Andy out front.
My friend, Ann, in Issaquah, if visiting Vancouver with her new fella today. Her son and his wife have a book store in W. Seattle and she goes in every now and again to read to kids. Here's a picture of her.
If you want to see a very interesting video, go to Youtube and key in Planet Earth & the Universe. I'd post it on here but I can't remember how to post videos and I'd have to go find my notes.
I decided to beef up my Pandora Music channel on my roku this morning to give me more variety. Should have done that long ago as I really enjoyed what they threw at me all morning long. I turned off the tv last night to sit and read my new book called Quench. Got through the first 100 pages and found it very enlightening. Has to do with changing the way you hydrate your body. I bought some sea salt today for one of the steps they suggest. I'll share more later as I highlight pages and take notes.
I usually look over the Dear Abby column each morning and generally skim the letters I think are too stupid for words. Can never understand why people don't use their common sense and just speak up!
Abby must have thought so this week too as I noticed a few of her answers were a tad out of character for the way she replies and she basically told people off. Loved that.
Mary and Andy are taking Jake to Disneyland next month. She sure knows how to shop. Using their "points" and other helps, she got their tickets for $34 a piece! Wow. And they fly free too.
I went on Facebook and discovered a page for Highland Commons where I'm waiting to get to the top of the list. Here's some of the pictures I saw.
the van goes to various places in PA and to Silverdale at Christmas
People can have their own little garden varea if they want
The commons room with tv AND CABLE (which I don't have anymore)
The computer (near the small library) is on the Internet and available to use also
laundry room
one of the views (depending on what building you're in and what side you're on)
Well, I guess I'll get back to my jigsaw puzzle now. Might look over the grocery ads that showed up in my mailbox today too. Exciting, huh?
