Another Day in Paradise

Spent a couple of hours sewing and have about 40 little 6" crumb squares completed. I want to move on to another project so I'm thinking I'll go ahead and sew these squares together for a small quilt or lap quilt.  Don't have a lot of room to do a larger blanket anyhow.
Next I may see about making some applique squares that I can sew by hand while in my recliner. I also received a package of aida cloth pieces from Amazon so I can always start another counted cross stitch design. Here's the one I'm working on now.  Don't have any particular plan on what I'm going to do with it but I may work it into a small quilt. Mainly it's just busy work while watching nighttime tv.
Lady downstairs (a music teacher) is playing the piano. I don't have my tv on so I can hear her but usually I don't. She's not teaching now, of course.  I've often wondered if my sewing machine whir makes any noise on her ceiling. Someday I'm going to have to ask her. I've very conscious of not wanting to disturb neighbors.

Breakfast was a little later than usual this morning but I didn't care when I saw all the extra little things on the tray. It included my usual Swiss Miss cocoa envelope, a small cup of OJ (which I pour into a pitcher to keep for later), a hard boiled egg (already peeled --which I thought was odd), an oatmeal packed (that I boiled water for), a small bowl of fruit, a small container of cottage cheese, some brown sugar and blueberries for the oatmeal and a cinnamon roll.  Usually there's much less so I'll use some of it for lunch.  The menu for dinner says: Cucumber salad, coconut shrimp w/ tropical rice and baked custard.

Weather was kind of sunny earlier but now it's clouding up again. It's actually easier to be inside if the weather is nasty.  My sciatica continues but I'm hoping the episodes are easing a bit and being a little kinder to me.

And that's about all I have today. Think I'll fix lunch and see what I can find on tv. Might continue reading my book too, although I feel a tad sleepy so it will probably be a short read.  Hope you're dealing with your own particular situation wherever you are.

Pictures for today:
