It's raining...It's pouring...the old man is snoring. (and I'm happy to see it)
Been keeping busy this morning. I pulled out a bin of envelopes and folders to see what I could see and came across various applique patterns that I may decide to monkey around with. Also pulled out my stack of applique and sewing books to browse while in the recliner. Kind of reminded me of days long past when I'd collect my stack of comic books and settle in for entertainment. That's when funny books (as we called them) were just a dime. I do have a collection of comics in my "save this" box somewhere.
Girl on the staff here (very sweet Jordan) passed out crossword puzzles at everyone's door and said they're going to give us crayons and colored pencils and color books later. Course I already have a huge supply of colored pencils and puzzles but it was still a nice gesture. I worked in my bedroom today. Did a little sewing on my crumb quilt pieces and am finding I didn't need my big ole ironing board set up taking up the whole wall after all as the tv table works fine. Here's the little pieces so far.
I hung three pictures on the wall as they made us undecorate our outside door area. It did make my bedroom more cozy so I'm fine with that. I guess. I'll have to be.
Other little jobs I worked on included....
cleaning & rewinding spools of thread and transferring them to a drawer nearby
threading several bobbins
setting aside all my spools of silk thread. Not even sure what I'm supposed to do with silk thread.
setting aside all the spools that need to be used first so I can dispose of them
While scrounging around in the bin, I came across some tablets of watercolor paper and sketching pads. I always intended to learn how to waterpaint and draw so now I guess I'll put more effort into it.
Got a Facetime call from Jake. Mary set him up with his own account so he can visit with friends. She said they had a kindergarten group chat too (90 kids) so that must have been interesting. Poppy continues to want to play when he hears everybody's voice on speaker. Eventually Mary and I ended up talking so Poppy and Jake could wrestle. Then she had to go and break them up. haha I remember years ago when Mary had a cat. Every time she would call anyone, the cat would be all over her and the phone. I guess she thought Mary was talking to her. It always make me chuckle.
One of the Facebook groups I belong to is Historic Olympic Peninsula. Love seeing the old photos people post. Here's two of Birney's Restaurant in Port Angeles.
Breakfast was pretty tasty this morn so I guess I'll make that my final picture for the day. Haven't got much else.
