Had a relaxing afternoon in the sun. Met Mary, Andy, & Jake at Fort Worden and the place was mighty busy. Good to see. I took my walker as I wanted to head for the bunkers and see if I could climb up there after all these years. I did it but I was scared. haha At one point as we were sitting on the lawn, the two jets flew over. Only one of my shots came out as we weren't expecting them and I had to hustle.
Jake had such a good time playing hide and seek with his dad. They both had nerf guns but weren't shooting anything as they were taped up.
Some girl was playing and singing inside the bunkers (good echo) but my video of it didn't turn out that great. Nice to hear, though. I never could have made it up there without Mary helping me as one set of stairs didn't have hand rails.
This next shot was taken from the top of the bunkers. One shows Jake hiding in the weeds, convinced I can't see him.
Other picnic shots included.....
Views of the mountains and beach and trees are always a favorite topic to shoot.
I opened my present over our picnic lunch -- peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. Thank you for the shirts, the jigsaw puzzle, and the magazines. And my card. I love cards with my face on them.
As I headed on home, I stopped to take another picture of the Swamp Road. Just because.
Almost looks like a little green tunnel down there.
Going to take it easy the rest of the day, browsing magazines and working on my cross stitch picture. Tomorrow I'm having a driveway visit with Sandy Ellis.
Happy Birthday to Ruthie! And remembering Tom and Linda too!
