Breakfast was a bacon and egg sandwich (some kind of square bread that I really like) and a small wedge of watermelon.
I couldn't get the online crossword done (too hard) but there's always tomorrow. Read the paper but nothing of interest outside of the Pickles cartoon. That and Family Circle are the only watch I read.
After a hot shower, I felt ever so much better than I did earlier. Went to bed at 9:30 last night and was tired as I didn't get a nap that day. Didn't really need one like I usually do. Come to think of it, I haven't had a nap all week. Wonder why it goes like that. I woke up at 2 a.m. in horrible hip pain. My usual routine now. I limped to the recliner using my walker and settled in to sleep the rest of the night away. Wasn't able to drop right off like I usually can so I used the time to do some stretching exercises for the sciatica that I'm pretty sure is the issue nowadays.
Got up at 7 and recalled part of the dream I was having...Elaine Arey was letting me hold her new
grandbaby? I was feeding her a bottle. Somehow I'm thinking it was tied in with the old Jimmy Stewart movie I had watched earlier in the evening. The Glenn Miller Story with June Allyson. At one point they had adopted a little girl and Jimmy was feeding her a bottle.
Neighbor lady stopped in and we chatted a bit, then I started painting rocks. Just the undercoats for both sides to start.
I left that activity after doing the tops and headed to the sewing machine to piece together my collection of triangle pieces I'm going to use for the whirlygig pattern. I decided my feet and legs would appreciate it if I snipped all the threads while sitting in my recliner with my feet up.
I also spent about an hour this morning gathering my notes together for a report on my grandparents. The longer I spent on it, the more I lost interest. I was mainly pulling data from my genealogy notes and I realized that my next project really needs to be getting all these notes in order. I may have to look for another 3-ring binder at Goodwill as I plan to separate into several categories. Just thinking about it gives me enthusiasm on making a nice orderly report. I ended the project I was working on by just writing on my mother's side of the family. It's a fairly interesting piece and I included photos but it's only 12 pages long. I'll do my Blankenship relatives later.
I told myself that I have to start adding something interesting to my blogs outside of the very boring life routine I lead. This is what I found for today......
Do-newborn-babies-remember-the-womb-and-slowly-forget-over-time-or-do-they-forget-about-being-in-the-womb-as-soon-as-they-pop-out
They forget slowly.
Did you know that when a baby is born and put on mother's
belly, it will lick its fist and go sniffing and tasting mother's skin until it
finds what smells and tastes the same? They can actively search and find
mother's breast. If they didn't remember the scent and taste, they wouldn't
know what to look for
They also remember the sounds, that's why babies are
soothed by so called white noise. It reminds them if the sounds they know from
the womb. Some cultures work with this fact. In some African tribes each baby
has a song. Mother makes a song for a baby she's expecting and teaches it every
tribe member. They sing it to her belly, to the newborn, to the kid as it
grows, their entire lives.
Mexican women wear a little bell called bola on their
belly and after giving birth use its sound to comfort the baby.
Some say everyone can remember in hypnosis. Why not?
I forget where I found this info but I think it was quora website. It's a totally fun place to look over if you're interested.
And here's two pictures from my mother's biological family. My great grandmother Avarelda Dorris Peterson who married Delbert Stevens and then Charles Peters.
Ava had two daughters, Erma Elsie and Doris Marguerite who gave birth to my mother. She's shown below with her husband, Fred Forslund.
