It was 550 pieces. I bought two more today at Goodwill. One is 520 and the other is 1000. I don't usually like to do the 1000 pc puzzles but I really liked the country music theme so I picked it up. They were only $1.29. I'll have to do the larger puzzle on my table and find a different spot for my laptop.
Goodwill seemed to be doing a pretty brisk business. I found 3 cross stitch material pkgs and the clerk only charged me a buck for all three. I also picked up a blue sheet (half off) and am hoping I can use it as backing on a quilt project.
I have this big ole crossword puzzle book (1000 puzzles) that have easy and hard puzzles to do. There's two to a page and I've found myself skipping way too many as I can't get the harder ones. Decided I needed to try harder so I moved Alexa to the kitchen table so I can question her when I get stuck. Is that cheating? I suppose so but it's no worse than looking things up in the dictionary or googling it. I did have Alexa in my bedroom so I could listen to the coast to coast radio talk show from 10 to 12. I found myself dropping off too soon, though, and missing a lot. Have to remember Alexa sits next to me and I can't talk out loud while typing or she butts in. Just now she said she couldn't find anything on bedroom and gave me directions on how else to look. Ha!
Sometimes in the evening, the hallway can get entertaining here. One lady near me has dementia and the other night she kept leaving her room in her night clothes and then couldn't find her way back. Her phone kept ringing and she was yelling hello over and over. Come to find out she was trying to make a call with her tv remote. I know quite a few folks my age who are also having memory issues. It happens. Probably gonna happen to me too if I live long enough. It's not easy getting through old age but then everyone knows that.
Dinner tonight was cream of broccoli soup (with cheese), carrot salad (I'll save for lunch tomorrow), hero sandwich, and blackberry pie. I had the alternate yesterday as I don't care for their stroganoff. Ordered a veggie burger and won't do that again. The night before that I ordered the cheeseburger alternate as I don't care for their chili. It was WONDERFUL!
Tomorrow I'm going to work on my Three Grandmothers piece, work on my quilt squares (can't wait to be done with it so I can move on), and sit down and get some reading done. Got a new book by Sally Field called In Pieces and I'm starting book two of the series about the Swedish emigrants moving to Minnesota.
And that's all I got for today.
