Either I'm worn out from yesterday or allergies are bringing me down a bit. My eyes sure are sensitive lately. Can't hardly stand any bright light at all when in the car. Oh well, I guess your eyes can wear out just like every other body part. I took a little recliner nap for 40 minutes but didn't really get much sleeping done because of the noises in the building. Doesn't matter. I'll sleep tonight.
Went to Port Angeles yesterday. Lots of traffic and more stops for work crews and other stuff than usual. Coming home, however, we had the road to ourselves all the way. Next to no traffic and that suited me fine. We stopped at the casino for a half hour on the way up (Mary Gaboury and me) as traffic was so stop and go, we thought a little diversion off the road might clear things up a bit. It isn't really as much fun at the machines when you wear a mask but that's our life now so we'll have to learn to adapt. We stopped for 45 minutes on the way home but neither of us left with money ahead. We're used to it.
I stopped at the Dollar Tree first as highway cones were keeping me in the left lane coming into town so I thought I might as well stay there and do that stop first. Only bought a few items. Sympathy cards, can of Comet, and a couple rolls of wrapping paper. Should have picked up some batteries. Oh well. When I got to the light to head across the highway into Walmart, the light didn't recognize a car was there and it's a long wait. It's done that to me before. Bad light. I turned right and went into WM on the other side. I was having a heck of a time walking because of my feet so I didn't browse as long as I would have preferred. Seemed to be a bigger problem than usual with my neuropathy. This morning I found these pads in my closest you can put under the part of your foot that are closest to the toes and it seemed to help a lot. Walking is much easier today. So glad.
I was able to get a memory card for my camera and it's working again so I'm really relieved about that. Mary's nephew, Brian McConaghy, waited on me along with his co-worker, Jeremy, so I took their picture.
Walmart didn't have black embroidery thread or any crochet thread at all so I had to stop at Joanne's after we left there. A lot of their sewing shelves were completely empty. I couldn't find a couple other items I wanted either so I just bought a pair of pants and called it good. Stopped at Walgreens to pick up some reprints I had ordered online and then headed over to Jenni's as she had invited us for burgers.
I invited Joyce Lee too as I hadn't seen her since I left PA last March. Was nice visiting with granddaughter, Maddie, who is home from college for a few days. She headed back today as she has an apartment there and a job. Her new boyfriend is in the Air Force and lives in Spokane. His folks are from Estonia, a country in northern Europe. Maybe he was from there too; I forget. I do remember that his birthday is a day before hers, he loves watching the Andy Griffith reruns, and he has 16 siblings! She really likes him.
Hunter was at work and still hadn't arrived home by the time we left so I was sorry to miss him. I had two loads of laundry to do while there so I saved myself $3 packing the dirty clothes up there. When we were driving in, Sue and Paul passed us in the next lane so we honked and waved.
Here's a few of the pictures I took that afternoon.
This morning I went down to participate in the stretch and exercise group but I guess no one else was interested as I was the only one. We cut it short and I had the activities lady come up to my apartment as she wanted to see my books. I went back at 1 for trivia pursuit but only two others came for that. We still had fun, though. She asked us questions and whoever got the most points, won a prize. There were a few things to choose from. I won and picked some microfiber cloths. Shared with another guy there as there were four of them.
I didn't get much else accomplished today. Did vacuum, though; that's something. And made three straps for the next bags I intend to put together this week. And ran a few errands. Got gas, went to the bank, and bought my lotto ticket for the next 15 draws.
Here's a couple of pictures I saw online that I thought were interesting......
The house where Edgar Allen Poe lived when he wrote The Raven.
A couple in divorce court who were ordered by the judge to divide up their beanie babies. What idiots!
And my video for today:
