Even though I didn't feel good, I still forced myself to work at the sewing machine. I've got three crumb quilt bags completed and five more half done. I'm still learning little tips as I go along as to what works and what doesn't. I just remembered I wanted to put a pocket in this last batch so I'll have to sew them up tomorrow.
I took the alternate meal today (big salad) so I'll probably break it down like I did the last salad and use it for several lunches. I had one for lunch today so I guess I'll be getting plenty of roughage this weekend. I took alternates for tomorrow and Monday too. A cheeseburter for Sunday and a Chicken breast sandwich for Tuesday. Didn't want their pork roast, grilled cabbage or steamed spinach for tomorrow and didn't want Philly cheesesteak pizza for Monday. Even though I'm not real sure what that is. I haven't cared for their pizza offerings the last two days so I'm opting out of those.
I'm trying to lose some weight but it's mighty slow going and I may have to go back to fasting one day a week as that seemed to be the only way I was making progress. I can do that easy enough, I think.
I took pictures of the little odds and ends in my memorbilia shoebox and thought I would blog about them this week. Only problem is, some of them I can't remember where I got them so I may have to wing it.
An hour later.....
Ended up taking a recliner nap and I don't feel like I'm improving much. Wonder if I have a little stomach flu. Tomorrow will be better. Dinner arrived while I was snoozing. Doesn't it look good? I'll put it aside for a couple hours as I'm not hungry right now.
We were given a cinnamon roll with our breakfast but I gave mine to a guy down the hall.
Okay. On to the box of treasures. I'll just do a couple or so today.
This is a Christmas card I got from Linda Brooks in 2006. I just loved it because she made it from a copy of a picture I sent her . My diary notes said it snowed heavily in November of that year.
Here's the picture I took in front of my carport in Sequim and below is me shoveling the driveway.
Shown below are various baseball, football, and celebrity cards I've kept. Why I have no clue. Especially the one of George Bush. Many were from bubble gum I think. I suppose I stuck them in a box and after a few years I decided maybe I'd hang on to them longer, just for fun.
these are tiny record albums of 1980 (from gum) of Pat Benatar, the Spinners, Rush, & Pat TraversI never really followed baseball much but I am gaining interest now. This collection isn't probably worth a thing but it's been in the box for years so it gets to stay there until the kids throw my stuff out.
Not sure why I kept this one of George but like the baseball cards, he gets to stay for nowl
My ET cards are kept mainly because I loved the movie and loved seeing it at Universal Studios.
Grease has always been a favorite with me and so has Alf.
The Hulk and Superman are just two more cards that got rubberbanded with the rest.
I followed the Seahawks for years and have a couple dozen cards here of the players in the 90s.
This next item is the letterhead from a construction company my ex husband started in the 1970s. I remember it as the mill went on strike in 1978 and John hired a few guys who got laid off at the mill. The company didn't last, though. He had a partner named Bruce but darned if I can remember his last name.
This next item was a copy of this large book I had about American Bandstand where I pasted various picture heads of friends. Linda and I were always doing stuff like that when we had copiers at our disposal. Ha!
This Christmas card was drawn by Judi Robbins for us when John wanted to put goats on our cards one year. I can't remember what year now but I've always liked it.
And the last item (for today anyhow) is these two fans. Again, I have no idea who gave them to me but I'm guessing Mary when she went to Japan to work for a while. I can't remember the year.
And tomorrow I'll bore you with more stuff.
