Well, today I took a two-hour nap. Not sure why I've been so terribly tired lately but I suppose it might be because I'm not getting outside to get fresh air and exercise. Also might just be that I'm tired. Ha!
Tomorrow Mary is coming and Poppy will stay with me a couple hours while they do a late Christmas at her dad's house. Catie is coming too so one of the other will help me get my curtain rod up. So silly that I'm excited about hanging curtains but you gotta' go with what you got.
I've been trying to get interested in Bridgerton on Netflix. Normally I like British shows but this one isn't grabbing me much. Has to do with high society in the old days and I'm more interested in poorer folks. I've also started rewatching Last Tango in Halifax. Now, that's a good show! I put a few programs in my favorite file on Amazon the other day and will slowly start to go through them to see if I picked anything worth keeping.
I watched an episode of Hoarders but I just can't dig up any sympathy for all those people who have mental issues and need to live in garbage. The show said 3 million people have this problem. I'd like to know where they get their numbers. We've always had some folks who lived like pigs; nothing new there but I've never heard of hoarders to the degree that they're getting on tv. I know a couple hoarders and as far as I can tell, they're just plain lazy. Period. One woman on a show yesterday started to cry and said she'd been this way since her daddy died and she missed him. Give me a break!
I tuned in to an old TV show "What's my line?" as I used to enjoy that when I was younger. But that was when I was younger and tv was new. Now it bores me to tears. Same with "I married Joan." Still, there are a lot of shows I wouldn't mind seeing again just to see if I liked them even a little as an adult. Like Beat the Clock, Queen for a Day, House Party, Life of Riley, Death Valley Days, Mr. Peepers, Loretta Young, My Little Margie, among others. I have seen episodes of You Bet your life, Jack Benny, Our Miss Brooks, Ozzie & Harriett, Dragnet, and while they're pretty corny, some still entertain. Another show I put in my favorites and totally enjoyed last night was Rugby matches. I enjoy those way more than soccer.
Mary emailed me earlier that school is going to start up for Jake next Tuesday. He'll attend Mon, Wed, and Friday and his assignments will be sent home to his parents. I assume via computer. He's been learning on zoom these past months. One of the school supplies she has to buy him is a 56-qt plastic tub with lid to hold his coat, backpack, and suppplies.
Nothing much new around here although I've heard a guy is moving in to the apartment on the other side of my bedroom. My friend, Trish, lives across the hall and she says he has the same last name as her. That should be interesting. We're all getting our second shot on Feb. 9th. I hear you can feel like you have the flu after this one. Oh joy!
Alumni newsletter arrived this week. Here's the page of memorials:
Now I think I'll try again to see if I can get a video uploaded? If I do it enough, I'll get familiar with the steps and it won't be a big deal. Let's see now....
