Mid Week

Well, I don't actually have much to blog about today but I'll rattle on about this and that. Sorry if I'm repeating myself. I do that a lot these days.  It's 10:45 a.m. and I just got back from Safeway. Brrrr... cold out there. I've had some adjusting to do bringing in my groceres and packages. In P.A. I just drove into the garage and was steps away from the kitchen. Here I have to walk across the parking lot, the lobbby, go up the elevator, walk down the hall, and hope and pray I can manage carrying everything in one trip. I may have to start putting my little cart in the back of the car once I quit having my meals delivered as my loads are bound to be heavier and more frequent.  Or I could put my my walker in but it's much heavier to lift and I seem to be a lot weaker here in my 70s.  But on the other hand, at least I'm still walking. Even if it is bent over a bit, slower, and more labored.

I've got Last Tango in Halifax playing on Netflix. I've seen it before but like several favorites, I always enjoy watching it again. Especially love the language and the way they talk.  I finished off 19-2 on the Acorn channel last night. So sorry to have it end but I'll keep my eyes open in case they start a new season.

The pills I got at urgent care for my intense itching WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!  I could have made due with Benedryl I suspect.  I saw on the accompanying literature (after I got home) that people over 65 should take it with caution as it can give more side effects. It also said the medicine was used to put people to sleep before surgery.  I took one and slept twelve hours.  I'm such a slow learner I thought my long stay in bed was because I was old and worn out. Which I am but I took another pill the next morning and immediately had to take a nap. It was before noon!  And then I had to take another nap in the afternoon and then I went to bed at 8 and slept 11 hours!  Good Lord!  That medicine is going into the medicine cabinet and I won't take it again unless I feel like ending it all and I'll take them all.  Just kidding.  Although that's not really funny.

My arm continued to itch and ache while in bed so at midnight I got up and lathered on some canibis cream and took a pain pill. Must have worked as I was able to drop off to sleep.  It's still itchy but not nearly as miserable as it was.  And I learned more than one lesson over this whole thing. I need to make sure the pharmacist takes the time to discuss the new medication.  I also need to make sure I get the kind of pill bottle lids I can open.

I ordered a set of curtains this morning. With my Amazon points, they only cost me $7. Am hoping and praying they're just what I need and the right size. I plan on hanging the curtain rod halfway down the window and not at the very top where it's hard for me to reach. I think it will work out okay and I'm looking forward to having an easy fix for the glare that bothers me from the building wall across the courtyard.

I wrote another chapter about my life yesterday.  Such a fun project and it will be made into a book at the end of the year. My subject yesterday was favorite music.  Well, I kind of knew this wouldn't be much of a blog post today but oh well, there's always tomorrow.

My cousin, Cindy in Gig Harbor set up these little mailboxes for her twin grandchildren when they were born. She'd put little treats in them and they'd check their  "mail" when they came to visit. Such a neat tradition.

Now she has another grand daughter, Collins, who goes to check her mailbox.

And last but not least, here's a couple pictures I saw on Facebook recently.
