Another day of wind and rain. I did venture out to Safeway to buy lotto tickets, though. $410 million and $447 million sounds like something I could change a lot of lives with. Dream on Joyce Baby!
I am going out again in about an hour. A lady down the hall had to go to the hospital for an MRI and the van here took her but he said it was too late in the afternoon for him to pick her up at 4. Hmmm....
Not much going on in the apartment right now. I've got a jigsaw in the works and am working on writing stories for the "Story Worth" Christmas gift I got. Every Monday I get a new question but you can pick another if you don't want that one. So far I've written on jobs I've had during my life and an unusual experience I had that I couldn't explain. At the end of year, it's turned into a hardbound book. You can include pictures too. I'm keeping my stories in another file, as well, so I can make my own book if I want to later on.
I went through my material bins a while ago to look over my stash and see what I have that needs to be worked on. Found a whole lot of quilt squares (like 18x18 size) that I'm going to play around with and see if I can sew them all into one crazy quilt. It'll probably look goofy as hell but that makes it more fun. I've got two other quilt tops that are big enough to make small quilts out of; I just need to add batting and backing. At some point, I'll also get back to sewing up scraps for another crumb quilt bag. At night in front of the tv, I'm using up odds and ends of yarn I was giving by crocheting them into a goofy looking afghan with absolutely no color scheme. I've also got a small counted cross stitch in the works and am thinking I might make up a bunch of those and work them into a quilt too.
I got water color tubes from granddaughter Catie for Christmas so that project is sitting on the back burner too. Genealogy research keeps calling my name, as well, so I want to work that into the list of things to do to keep me busy. I've been trying unsuccessfully to communicate with Shutterfly about an order of reprints that I placed with them Dec. 17th. According to their webpage, the tracking shows it was delivered to the Port Townsend UPS facility on Dec. 22. And there it sits. I called UPS but the guy didn't want to be bothered. Told me I needed to talk to Shutterfly about it. That seems odd to me since shutterfly says it's already at the Four Corners building. I think the customer service is lacking at bothplaces. I tried chatting on line with Shutterfly (no phone number) but they said I was 98th in line waiting. They also said my order number wasn't recognized by them. I doubt I'll use their services again. It was only $4.50 (6 photos) but I wanted to send them in a sympathy card and I'm disappointed that no one will help. Gonna have to look around and see what other service I can find that mails. I used to use Walgreens in Port Angeles and they do mail so perhaps I'll go that route.
Port Townsend lacks some businesses I could use. Photo reprints, post office substation, and good thrift stores so you aren't stuck with Goodwill. The activity director here called me a couple hours back asking if I wanted to sign up for the virus vaccine as we're close to getting a supply. I said YOU BET!
Here's a couple pictures I saw online while browsing here and there.
Celene Dion looking like hell. Says she's lost weight because she's into ballet dancing now. Yeah right.
The other was an old picture of when the Rose Festival started in Portland Oregon many years back. Now I'm going to try again to post a video from Youtube. I'm sure I'm making it harder than it really is.
Well, 20 minutes later and I'm still struggling. Will come back to it. I'm not giving up!
