Looking Around my Town on MLK Day

Sun's been shining all day so I decided to grab the camera and ride around to see what I could see.

I drove into the golf course as I hadn't taken any pictures from their clubhouse area in years and I wanted to see how my old "pink house" down on San Juan looked from up on the hill.

those little trees are full grown now
Our pink house as seen during a snowy winter

The house is yellow now and remodeled and beautiful inside

Being near the golf course gave me an excuse to go down by San Juan and 22nd to look over "my tree." I wonder what kind of tree this is.

Of course it doesn't look like much in winter but I remember as a child when I walked back and forth to school, I'd go down 22nd street and climb up this little trail that would take me across the golf course up to the Lincoln Building.  This tree was very bushy and leafy and I'd crawl inside to my own little camp where I could lay among the limbs and hide from everybody. I loved that tree.

I was on 21st and Landes as I went around the block and saw this old deserted shed that is about to collapse.  I remembered taking a picture of that old shed a year ago or somewhere around then.
I don't know where my fascination with old buildings comes from.
Downtown I took these shots......
City Hall as seen from Pope Marine Park

Nice little beach where the salmon club used to be

Uptown I took one of the theatre as it has a long history.

Lawrence Street businesses continue to change through the decades, as well.

I remember this as the Jack and Jill Shop and the cleaners was that little building on the right.
