Glad That's Over

Got my second virus vaccination on Saturday afternoon. Events like that are about the only time you see other residents. Even though we sat six feet apart (sorta), it's always kind of interesting to listen and observe.  I got my shot at 4:15 and by 5:15 my arm started its itching routine. I expected that. The rest of the day was okay but by Super Bowl time the next afternoon, I realized I was going to be one of those hit with the after effects.  Strange how quickly it came on even though it took 24 hours to do so. I was all ready to watch the game but I was overcome with chills and my body ached all over. Headache was awful. I got my jammies on and crawled into bed. I literally moaned and groaned all night as my body reacted to the vaccine floating around in my system.

I was up by 8 the next morning but moving pretty dang slow.  Felt like I was kind of in a fog but I got dressed and decided I would get done whatever I could get done that day. My daughter, Jenni, and I had planned a lunch at the casino but I had to beg off as I knew I wasn't good to drive or have any fun.  By the afternoon, I had managed to start painting half a dozen rocks.  And that was the extent of my production.

I sat down last night to surf through the Amazon Prime selections and put a few in my favorites. Everything always sounds interesting when I do this and then I watch a few of them and end up deleting. This time I chose a few old movies from the 40s and 50s, a documentary on Peter,Paul, and Mary, some science fiction, a couple of disaster movies, and of course, the murder mysteries along with others. I'll start in watching this evening and see how it goes.

Granddaughter Maddie and her fiance, Ants, have chosen their wedding venue on June 26. It's 20 miles from Spokane at  Deer Park called The Barn on Wild Rose Prairie.

It's been years since I've been to Eastern Washington so I'm really looking forward to the trip. I've been trying to remember whose wedding I last attended as I know it's been years. Think it was Mary and Andy in April of 2008.

Mary wrote me: Jake  starts hybrid school on Thursday.  9-12:30 in-person; online and synchronous in the afternoon.  He's signed up for soccer all next week 9-4 M-F during school's "2nd winter break".  Not gonna lie, its a break for us too.  And...starts basketball on 2/20.  Every Saturday for 8 weeks. no games. Just scrimmages and practice with his small assigned group.  Parents aren't even allowed in the gym.The exercise is really key with Jake and we've been lacking in it with remote school, no playdates and winter.  Its been brutal.  I'm hoping this is a positive start.

Sue and Paul lost their pickup truck this week when a neighbor's tree fell on it.

I don't know what she's gonna do for wheels as she waits for reimbursement.

I was able to find another doctor yesterday. It was much simpler than I thought it was going to be and I'm thrilled!  Of course I can't get in until the end of April but I'm okay with that.  Another resident here has this (female) doctor and says she's super nice. Plus she's three blocks down the street.

Well, my hummingbird has been coming in frequently this morning and it kind of looks like her feeder needs some more nectar so guess I'll pop out the window screen and fill her up. Sun is shining but I've heard we could get some snow this week. We'll see.
