I've lived at Discovery View Retirement Apartments for one year now and one thing I always enjoy seeing is the dog population that also lives here. I like dogs. A lot. But I keep finding excuses why I don't need to own one. Mostly laziness on my part. I'm still wavering back and forth on that and every time I watch the Westminster Dog Show on TV, I get real antsy to go to the pound and find me a pooch. Three of my four kids own dogs and I get to see two of these dogs from time to time. Sammy is a dachshund and lives in Port Angeles. He was originally owned by my sister here in Port Townsend who lives at Claridge Court Apts but she had to give him up because Sammy is a barker. Barks at everything Once the neighbors began to complain she opted to give him to my daughter, Jenni, in Port Angeles. Jenni and her husband, Wayne, had another dog called Maizy at the time but she wasn't working out for several reasons so she agreed to take Sammy in.
Wayne wasn't too pleased when he came home and discovered another dog had moved in. But they adopted Maizy out and in no time at all, Sammy was a part of the family. Wayne loves that dog and would do anything for him. Sadly, he's in his last days now but Wayne refuses to have him put down. Jenni takes him for walks using a baby stroller and Wayne carries him outside to pee as he isn't able to walk anymore. I love that dog.Janie brings Sammy to his new home as Maizy looks on with my grandson, Hunter.Monday, March 8, 2021
DOGS OF DISCOVERY VIEW
Two dogs live next door to me on this floor. Cricket and Frido owned by Casey and Terry.
Also living on this floor is Pandora, owned by Heather.
Downstairs we have six more dogs.
Boogie and Trixie who live with Pat
Bandit is a Shih Tzu who hangs with Margo
and Truffles is a dachshund who lives with Gabe.
Henry hangs with David
And Spanky lives down the hall with Mike
And last but not least, I just had to go take a picture of Mr. Peaches who lives with Yvonne.
