Weird Weather Today

One disadvantage of living in this particular apartment that looks out on the opposite wall (Discovery View is U shaped) is that when the sun is out, the glare bouncing off that wall is really hard on my eyes and I have to pull the drapes. Which isn't that big a deal (I made some simple cotton ones to go with the heavier short drapes I bought at Amazon) but today is one of those days where the room is bright, I close the curtain, the sun goes away, and the room is dark. I open the curtains and the sun comes out again. I know. Some people complain about anything. ha ha  It almost looks like rain out there now. I wonder what is making me sneeze today. Must be something blooming out there that is kicking up my allergies.

I woke up at 3:30 and as often happens, I couldn't drop off to sleep again.  When you have a neighbor directly below you, it's necessary to not be walking around at 4 a.m.  I was wide awake (and rested) but my head was all stuffed up so I made my way to the recliner to dose a bit.

Next thing I knew, it was three hours later!  Yeah, I was more tired than I thought. Got up to watch the CBS Sunday show, and then proceeded to do morning chores and some rearranging I thought I needed to do.

I used my air fryer to cook up some hash browns and added red pepper and tomato and a weenie to the mix. I'm still experimenting with what works the best. Will spray the potatoes with a little oil next time as they were too dry to suit me.  I wasn't sure if it was my nose but I thought my shoes smelled like shoes so I put dryer sheets in them to de-smell them overnight.  Did some hand laundry, some ironing, some vacuuming, some dish washing, and surfed the net. Also took a quick shower and visited some apartments in the building where the resident has a dog. My next blog will be pictures of the dogs that live here.

I don't feel like sewing today so it's gonna be games on the laptop, jigsaw puzzle, and reading. I found a book in the library downstairs that I wanted to read ---The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connolly.  Yesterday was one of those rare days where no body parts gave me grief. I always notice when I have those days as they don't often appear.

I watched a good movie on Amazon last night. I am David.  I've had golf on all day today and plan on sitting down to read in a little while.  Mary sent me a picture  called "Where's Poppy?"  haha

She's been real busy (as usual) with various things going on in her life. Jake is playing basketball so her or Andy take him to that but they can't go in so she takes Poppy for walks. I think soccer starts next or was it football. I forget.  She's been asked to be an online kindergarten school teacher for Newcastle Elementary so she's learning the ropes on that too.

Today is my ONE YEAR anniversary of moving in here. A lot has happened in that year and a lot hasn't happened. Hoping that the rest of the year picks up a bit.
Here's a cartoon I saw on Facebook.
I don't use my Alexa as much as I could. A while back I needed to make sure I was up extra early so I told Alexa to wake me up at 6:45 a.m.   I still set my clock, though; For some reason, I couldn't grasp that she would come through for me. haha
