Today is May 15. I started this online project April 15. Sometimes I found it necessary to shorten some of the answers from the first draft but I mostly kept everything intact. Now I have to go back and read it slowly for typos. I know there will be plenty. I've been using a keyboard since I was 15 so you'd think I could type better than I do. Every single day, however, I struggled with typing paragraph after paragraph. So thankful you can fix it easy on the computer because using white-out, carbon paper, and erasers would probably make me decide to dump the whole idea before I even got started.
I edited the introduction once I realized so much had changed with the people sending me their thoughts back in 2002. I wish I could have convinced more cousins to participate but I'm happy I got what I did when I did. A lot of the information is dated now, of course, as it's been 19 years. Six have passed away, three of the spouses of cousins have also died, and four have divorced.
I do want to add more photos here and there so I'll make that my next step of the project. These 29 chapters totaled 57 pages, down eight from the original I did in 2002. There are approximately 24,367 words. That's probably of no interest except to me. haha
Haven't quite decided how to print this up yet but I may opt for a print store as my home printer would probably balk at close to 60 pages or more. One thing this project has done is make me gungho to get back to my geneaology notes and get them in better order. A lot more I could do on those. I wish the blog would recognize and correct errors like Word does but alas, I'm going to have to do all corrections on my own.
Should be a pleasant day today. I've already ran two errands to fill up the car with gas and buy some produce at Safeway. Am thinking I want to throw a stew together in the crock pot. Also plan to practice on my air fryer some more. Bought a tin of biscuit dough and will make them into doughnuts. I've also got two sewing projects sitting in the wings and a couple of books calling my name. Right now I've got golf playing on tv so it's quite relaxing at the moment.
Daughter Mary is coming to town tomorrow morning early and we're going to breakfast. Will pick up Mary Gaboury too. Mary (daughter) has been working for weeks at getting her house ready to sell. She's already filled two storage units and next week they'll go to a motel for 5 days (with a pool so Jake is thrilled) so the realtors can show the place. I can't wait to see the pictures online.
And that's it for my Saturday so far. No Rhody Festival again this year but here's a shot from 7 years ago when Linda P and I thought we were pretty hot stuff. haha Also, one of the lawn chair group that I always loved to see coming.
