Dog Stories that made me chuckle

It's 3:30 a.m. Christmas Day. Yep! Insomnia again.  Probably because I went to bed too early but I was tired and that's what you do when you're tired.  Oh well, it's not like this is anything new and I know my hours are my own and I can always take a nap later.  Decided as long as I was up, I might as well write on my blog and since dogs were making me laugh yesterday, I chose that topic to share.

Mary sent me some pictures of their Christmas eve activities and I asked how Poppy was doing in the excitement. She sent me a video of her chewing on a new dog toy and then sent me a photo of her whining outside the "tree gate" because she knew that red stocking was hers and she wanted it.  haha

While at Jenni's in Port Angeles earlier, we were sitting in the living room chatting and her dog, Sammy, kept barking from Hunter's bedroom. She kept hollaring at him to pipe down and finally went to see what he was barking at.  Well, poor thing was stuck in a spot he couldn't free himself of. GUILT! She rescued him after apologizing. Here's one of my favorite pictures of Sammy taken a few summers back when Wayne was outside cooking a hot dog.

The last dog story concerns my sister, Janie's dog, Lucy. (another dachshund) She is babied big time and gets major separation anxiety if left alone. Most times Janie can leave him with her son, Eddie, who lives a few miles outside of town. Yesterday, though, her caregiver was going to treat her to a Christmas lunch at Bayview so they took off hoping that Lucy would behave herself for an hour.  Well...NO!  That wasn't happening. She began howling. And didn't stop.  It was loud.  The neighbor (I guess it was a neighbor) finally called Eddie as they figured Janie must be inside dead on the floor for the dog to be carrying on so pitifully.  Eddie called his mom to see where she was.  I suspect the lunch was cut short.  Makes me laugh how dogs can rule your life.
