Groggy Day

Seems like I'm having more and more problems staying asleep at night. Hate that!  I woke up at 4 and tried to nap in my chair for two or three more hours but my body wasn't having any of it so I headed back to bed. Tossed and turned and had more dreams -- most of which aggravate the hell out of me!

Getting up in the morning is my worst period of time for hip and sciatica pain. Once I get moving, things settle down a bit but that first half hour is so miserable. I know. Poor me!

I did my usual computer stuff (newspaper, crossword, email, Facebook, hotmail) and then decided I'd start sewing these little 4" flannel squares together. Had enough to make a small baby blanket. My intention was just to strip sew a few through the machine but I kept on going and pretty soon I had the whole top done.

I don't have enough batting onhand and wanted to make this one a little puffier so I'll shop at Joanne's next Friday when I head to Port Angeles.  Then I sat down to start reading my new genealogy book and highlighting certain things I wanted to remember. Got to about chapter 8 and it was time to take the book to my computer and do the steps to get on igoogle.com. After a half hour of not being able to find the link for igoogle, I finally did a search.  Kept asking Google "where is igoogle?" and they kept replying "do you mean google?" After more searching I found an article that igoogle was discontinued in 2013. Damn it!  I knew I should have invested in the newer edition of the book. But it was double the price. I'll still use what tips I can get out of the book but it's annoying.

I do know, though, that I can get a ton of help on youtube and that will be my go to place from now on. And it might just help my episodes of insomnia in the middle of the night. I can always log on to work on my searching and know that I'm not disturbing neighbors. Meanwhile, today I've been walking around in  a cloud.  I took a 45 minute nap at 2 and you always feel like crap when you wake up from those. I know. Poor me!

My daughter, Mary, is sure a godsend to the school district she's working at. Mostly volunteer but some of it is for pay. They've got her subbing for the secretary, working with the handicapped, tutoring in classrooms, working in the playground and lunchroom, and substitute teaching. They're all short handed and having a heck of a time with covid sickness and no bus drivers, etc.

I just stuck a piece of cod in the oven. Thank you Dana! That will be dinner with a salad.

I am so sick sick sick of hearing about the virus. I have to keep the news off most all of the time. And now they want to tell us what masks to wear. I priced those suckers online and they ain't cheap!

Thank God for my roku device. I set up IMBD tv channel (free) and there's a ton of movies on there to keep me happy. A lot of the time, I settle in to watch reruns of Life Below Zero or golf.

And this is why I don't blog everyday. Not much to yak about.
