Family Tree & Making Masks

I must have slept a little better last night as I didn't feel all wrung out today.  It doesn't feel like I got much accomplished  but I guess I kind of did. I started in on genealogy. Got out my various notebooks (3-ring binders on different families) and tried to see if I could get the info in order on who I wanted to work on. I already knew it was going to be Blankenships as my main continuing goal is to find Charlie.  As far as I know he was a younger brother of my grandpa LewGene but I'm beginning to wonder..... Found info on all the other siblings but next to nothing on Charlie.  I'm going to be so excited once I figure out exactly who he was.  And I will too!

Decided I needed to go in a different direction to track him down and thought perhaps if I researched the aunts and uncles of my grandpa Lew Gene, maybe I could find a clue there. Sometimes family members take in their nephews or at least stay in touch.   LewGene and Charlies' dad (Lewis Marion) had a lot of siblings but even more half siblings so I've got my work cut out for me to study them all. But I love stuff like that.

A neighbor stopped in and we ended up visiting for over an hour. She's a PT graduate but about 7 years younger then me.  Discovered we had quite a bit in common. After she left, I made a quick lunch, worked a crossword puzzle and thought I'd head into the sewing machine to try and make a face mask. I saw this video last night of Tim Totten who demonstrated making an origami nose pleat mask so I took my laptop into my sewing room and proceeded to follow his directions. It turned out just like his but I wasn't all that fond of the pleats in front so I'm going to search around on youtube and find more videos. They're fairly easy to make. I gave the one I made to the neighbor lady and she seemed to like it fine. What else could she say? haha

Saw a notice down by the mailboxes yesterday inviting us to an open house tomorrow afternoon at those little homeless shelter houses across the street. I'm thinking I might go over and do that. I've got 3 or 4 quilts to gift out and that might be a good place to find someone who'd appreciate having one. We'll see...

See that pole right in the middle? Management had a company come in and put up brighter parking lot lights and CAMERAS.  Nothing like being welcomed to the neighborhood.

I continue to watch Youtube videos nightly. I have a couple on genealogy I always tune into. GenealogyTV and Elevenses with Lisa Louise Cooke. I also watch Darlene Michaud and her sewing tips although lately she's been hung up talking about how her mother drives her nuts.  I also watch Welcome to my Curls about this woman and her dogs.  I often stop on cooking presentations. Fascinating to watch.  Another favorite is watching folks who go to Goodwill and garage sales and thrift shops.  They take a camera in and discuss everything they see, what they buy, what they reject, and what they resell it for on ebay.  I love getting to see all the larger Goodwill stores who have a ton of good merchandise. Not like these rinky dink stores on the peninsula.

I invariably get hooked on videos about dogs that are rescued (and other animals) and sometimes the music presentations are worth a looksee.  Everybody you can think of is on Youtube. I like watching Tina Turner, Delbert McClinton, Mick Jagger, and a lot of the Kennedy Center award shows.  Depending  on what body part is giving me grief, I often tune in to exercise shows. Right now it's sciatica.  Another guy I enjoy listening to is Dr. Eric Berg.  He's into the keto diet and while I'd love to eat the way he suggests, a whole lot of his suggestions are too dang expensive.

Well, time to go find Tim Totten again. I know he's got more videos on masks.
