Came home from an alumni meeting and whipped up a dish called taco pie. It's a pretty easy dish to make and very tasty. Plus it means I don't have to cook for a couple days. Sitting here watching the news as I see all the snow in other parts of the country. Man, I'm glad I don't live back east. I would not do well.
I've been working on this 500=pc jigsaw puzzle but sorry, Mary.....it was too hard for me and I put it away for another day when I'll attempt it again. (People shopping at Costco) I got the border done nice and easy and I thought the rest of the puzzle would be fun but it wasn't. It made me sad. haha I set up another one of a mountain scene so I'll tackle that tomorrow and see if I can do better.
I've been digging into genealogy and posting on my other blog but as usually happens once I get into the subject, I end up sitting way too long. Kind of like when you're at a casino playing slots. I had to force myself to close the notebook and move on to something else. I continue to watch youtube videos at night and that gets me all gungho to get back to it the next day.
I did find one thing I hadn't found before -- a deed where my great grandfather and his wife (Lewis Marion and Jane Downs) were buying or maybe being given this land back in Delaware. She was from there and I half wonder if it wasn't left to her in a will. I'll have to go look for it again. I know it was signed in Delaware.
I started listening to this audio book I picked up at the library in Hadlock. You can't go home again. I tried reading it but it was too wordy. I'm finding listening to it isn't a piece of cake either but I went through so much trouble to locate it, I'll stick with it while working my puzzle. I've got three or four other books in reserve. Jodi Picoult, Stephen King, and Louise Penny.
Nothing much on my calendar for the rest of the week and now that I look at it, the whole month of February is empty. FINE WITH ME! haha
I think sleeping with the humidifier is helping but on the other hand, maybe not. I'm still congested and coughing. Not all the time but enough to annoy me and of course, you can't help but wonder...is this covid? I think I'll start taking an allergy pill tomorrow and see if that helps.
Watched the latest episode of 1883 on Paramount+ the other night. It's fairly good but too many commercials and I'll probably cancel the channel once the series is over. Meanwhile, I'm watching Ozark on Netflix. Pretty violent but I guess sometimes I'm just in the mood for it. I am finding I have very little sympathy for any of the characters. Laurie Linney is especially bitchy and Darlene...well..Darlene is going to meet a violent end. We all know that because she keeps blowing people away with her shotgun. She's a real nutcase. Yeah, this is what entertains me now. That and watching youtube videos of guys going to yard sales to buy stuff to resell on ebay. I actually really enjoy all those. I like to see what people have and how much the buyers can make online afterwards. These videos are all summertime 'cause most people are in shorts and flipflops. Whole streets have sales and those are really fun to watch.
Well, my taco pie is done so guess I'll take a picture of it and post on FB. I really need to get a life.
