Since I'm kind of tired of doing jigsaw puzzles, I decided I'd get back into rock painting for a bit. Reading too although I still find myself dropping off before I've read even one chapter. Doesn't matter what time of day I sit down to read I still end up needing a nap. Irritates the hell out of me! I just started East of Eden by John Steinbeck and I can tell it's gonna be a book I like.
Anyhow, a friend asked me to paint a rock for a dog's grave so I drove out to North Beach as my collection of larger rocks was kind of low. Picked up a few.
It was about 9:20 when I got out there and cars were already parked with beach walkers. And they continued to come too.I've found getting onto beaches isn't all that easy for me anymore. I'm too unsteady trying to navigate rocks and logs. The old boat ramp at North Beach was always easy for me but not today as a storm blew a big log onto the walk area.
I found another little spot nearby, however, but even using my walking stick I maneuvered down it like I was 94 years old! On the way back up Kuhn St, I took this shot of a cute house across the field. Wish I lived there but taking care of the place would probably be too much for me.It's hard to take pictures while sitting in my car as other cars are ALWAYS coming down the road. Used to be you would have the roads to yourself most of the time but not anymore. I did take a quick one of the pond where you make that corner on San Juan towards the fairgrounds.Coming back along San Juan towards town, I took one of the Blue Heron School and the old roller rink across the street. I also noticed flags at the fairgrounds so I drove down to see what was going on there. A gun show.
The mountain views around Port Townsend never fail to make me want to jump out of my car and take more pictures. So pretty. I did notice, though, that I probably need to go through a car wash as those I took from the driver's seat look pretty dirty.
I drove in behind Kai Tai Nursing home as I knew there was a terrific weeping willow tree there. Found another neat tree up on Washington near the post office.
I loved the pretty pink trees near the courthouse and while on the Washington Street bluff, I took a picture of another house (with a view to die for) that I'd also love to own. But again, I wouldn't be able to keep it clean. Ha!
I always have to drive through downtown (dragging the gut) and this morning there was a neat looking cruise shipped docked.
Near the little park downtown, I stopped to talk to a musician who was set up with his flute, drum, guitars and CDs. He's traveled the country and even played with Willie Nelson once.
While I was up on Lawrence (and out of my car) I was near my Aunt Elva's house on the corner of Lawrence and Walker. I always notice how all my relative's homes have changed over the years with new owners. Elva's is probably the most changed.
Got my second covid booster shot Wednesday and it was mighty sore that first night. It still itches too!
