Thursday night

I don't usually sit down at my laptop to blog after 9 pm but I started looking around on Amazon and Ebay for various items and next thing I knew I was waking up from my stupor.  Wanted to price snow globes. Not sure why but I've always liked them (especially the old kind) but man oh man, are they ever pricey. I also looked over stuffed animals because I thought it would make a nice gift (for an adult) but then I changed my mind and realized it was really just me who wanted a teddy bear. Or some other animal. They did have a ton of them.  Everything from snails to chickens.

Was on youtube rewatching a few sewing videos by Darlene Michaud as I have various pieces of material I want to make into something and I knew she had a lot of good patterns that were easy to follow.

Been reading "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck but no matter what time of day I sit down to read, I invariably get sleepy. So annoying as this particular book is really good. Came across a video of wood chips being loaded in Port Angeles. I used to drive right by this place all the time when I was heading home. BTW, if you click on a video and want to see it bigger, there's a small box (with brackets) at the bottom right that will make the video full screen. Hit escape button to go back to regular size.

Went out for breakfast with my brother and his wife, my sister, and my friend back from Yuma. Don't think I'll be eating out all that much as prices are pretty steep. Everywhere.  I just ordered one pancake and with two cups of coffee, it was $12. Was nice to see everyone, though.

Here's one of the pictures that Catie's photography took on her wedding day last week. I can see I need to wear my other wig. This one looks like I have an animal on my head.

I painted about 18 rocks this week and have maybe 10 in my car to give away or hide around town. I already gave about 9 away but I can always paint more.  These didn't have the gloss added to them yet when I took a picture.

I did set up another jigsaw puzzle this afternoon. Decided I really needed another diversion when I tired of painting rocks or sewing or reading.  Not too much on my agenda (so far) this week. Have a celebration of life in Hadlock on Saturday afternoon and Jenni is coming to town May 10th to take me out for Mother's Day lunch.

This Saturday (April 30) marks two events in my life. My dad died 13 years ago and I retired 20 years ago. Man!  Where does the time go?  Below is a picture of me and Mary Crozier (and others) getting an award at the mill. Forget for what. A slogan maybe?
