Well, it's 10 a.m. and I just got back from a quick Safeway run. Picked up some ham hocks to make green pea soup later in the week. Soup has gotten so expensive (like everything else) that I need to take the time and make my own. Tastes better anyhow. I saw a lady charging her car and stopped to talk about the process. She said she's had a lot of women stop to chat about it but no men. They're not interested. haha I asked her if there were many places in town with charges and she said Safeway had two and there were maybe ten others around town. One even at the funeral home.
I picked up a package of English muffins (priced $2.49) but when I checked out, I was charged $4.59. I decided to ask about it and the clerk went back to check. Seems someone had placed a dozen pkgs on this table with the sign right below it --and they didn't belong there so he refunded me $2. With prices being so high, you need to pay attention. I went to Grocery Outlet in Port Angeles yesterday with a friend and why I didn't pick up everything I needed then, I don't know. Would have saved myself money I do know that.
We left PT at 10 and returned at 2. Hit Groc. Outlet, Walmart, the Dollar Tree, and the pot store. Didn't stop to eat so I was plenty hungry by the time I got home and put stuff away. I spent just under $100 for the day. Would have been less but I decided to bite the bullet and see how much Walmart wanted for quilt batting. It costs too much everywhere but I picked up three pkgs anyhow and will check their prices with Amazon. They're probably right around the same.
Just got a call from the scheduler at my doctor's office who is going to call in a referral to a urologist in Sequim. Even though he was doubtful they would take any more patients. We only have one guy in this town and he's not accepting. He also suggested I go to Silverdale as I'd be more apt to get in but I hate driving over there if I don't have to. If Sequim says they're too full, then I'll just go ahead and see the Silverdale outfit. As it is, I'm probably going to go down to Vancouver around the first of May for a month or a month and a half so I may have to cancel any appt I get, no matter where it is. Which is fine with me. I have my doubts I even really need to see a urologist. It sure has become a hassle to see a doctor these days. I scheduled a mammogram and bone density test last month and they didn't have any openings until May 19th. I'll probably end up having to cancel that one too. And again, I don't really care!
It's looking a lot nicer out today than it was yesterday but it's still cold. We had pouring down rain from Sequim to PT on our return trip yesterday. Finally cleared up when we hit P.T. I'm babysitting Lola, my friend's dog this afternoon for a couple of hours while she has a biopsy on her thyroid. I've set up the card table to start another jigsaw puzzle and I'll probably do little crumb quilt piecing at some point too.
I subscribed to Discovery+ a couple weeks ago and that's pretty much all I watch at night. Well, I watch youtube a lot too. Love to see the garage sales and goodwill trips resellers make and the deals they end up getting. Can't do that here, though. Goodwills on the peninsula are awful. I watched this one series called River of No Return about the Salmon River in Idaho. Now I'm hooked on Yukon Men. I haven't quite figured out how this fascination started as it's never something I would have watched in my younger days.
If I can get it figured out how to post a video, I'll post a guy I watch daily as far as selling on ebay. He's got a big following I think. And here's the goose I'm working on at night while I watch tv. I want to do the Santa design next.
Well, I thought I had more to chat about but I can't think of a thing. Some youtube videos you might enjoy are Welcome to my Curls (about a woman and her two dogs), Phil Donahue interviews (loved the series with Andy Griffith's crew),Commonwealth Flipper, and lots of stuff with Stephen Colbert.
